SOURCE: My canon powershot a570 is not powering on despite changing the batteries. Any suggestions?
Here are some simple things to try first for a camera that won't power on. They won't work for every case, but they're worth a try:

Its probably because ur shake control isnt turned on, If its turned on and still it persists then its not a defect its just that u will have to be more steady.
Thankyou

There is a one-year warranty on the camera if you purchased it new. Contact your regional Canon support facility, and they will be able to give you your options for getting the camera repaired under warranty.
SOURCE: hi, I just bought Canon PowerShot A1100 IS camera.
Those batteries are Ni-cads or the like, they ONLY have 1.2 Volts, this camera should ONLY be used with "Normal"? batteries, of 1.5 Volts. It is all a function of VA/T Volts x Amps, over Time, and a 1.2 @ 2.7Amps = 3.24VA, now, even at same current 1.5 @ 2.7 Amps = 4.05.VA You see, the other first one does not have enough energy to last. It is that simple.
SOURCE: Lens Error
Sometimes the lens is just stuck, sometimes it needs to be replaced. Try to mechanically move the lens in and out by gently twisting, pushing and pulling. If that fails, the gears are too misaligned to repair it without opening it.
If you're out of warranty, there are third party place that replace them such as camera lens repairs.
If you want to do it yourself, there are also free camera repair guide websites that show you how to replace the lens, the replacement part is usually available on ebay.
