Hello thf you look closely at the place where the key fits examine it and look to see if there are any broken tabs if not the key should simply press back in it does take some pressure and you should feel a snap when it is locked in place
Now if it does not then the key itself may be faulty which means you can get a another key from a old key board or just replace the keyboard itself they really are not too expensive ok
Hop this helps
Best regards Michael

REPAIR ENTER KEY ON KEYBOARD

If the key is intact, position over shaft to match key holes, now press down until you hear a click, that is the indication the key is in place.

The screen is horizontal and the arrow doesnt work right

Most video cards that support the rotating of the screen have a shortcut, which can be pressed by accident. This does not happen as often as one would expect but the key sequence is Ctrl + Alt + [arrow key]. Where [arrow key] is either the up, down, left, or right arrow key. Each one does something a little different. The Ctrl + Alt + Up Arrow should get you back in the right direction

HP 1740 screen image rotated 90 degrees - how to move back

Hello,

On most video cards the key combinations of ctrl+alt+left arrow, ctrl+alt+right arrow, ctrl+alt+up arrow or ctrl+alt+down arrow will allow you to rotate the screen display in any direction. Each key combination will rotate the screen in the direction of the key press.

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

Left shift key is loose

The keys on laptops are easy to break. Many times they become loose or broken during cleaning or even though normal wear if the computer is used a lot.

If everything appears to be intact simply align the button directly over the area and apply a light, even pressure. This should snap it back into place. If you aren't comfortable doing this contact your local computer repair shop and have them take a look at it. Hope this helps!

Keys coming off my HP Pavilion 5000 laptop

I would say it would be best to just replace the whole keyboard. It's not hard, just time-consuming, & you can get a good price for one on eBay.

How to adjust the brightness on a HP Pavilion dv4000 laptop scree

Its usually the Fn key (bottom left) and a function key on the top line like F1 to F12 the brightness is the picture of the sun. I couldnt find any specific information on your model but most HP's are the same.

Keys coming off my HP Pavilion 5000 laptop

I'm afraid that if the keys "keep coming off" then the very small bits of plastic that keep them down have permanently broken (very common) and that you must replace the keyboard. Page 5-28 of this document from HP explains how to replace the keyboard of that model.

The key tops on my laptop Pavillion are loose and keep coming off

There are 2 little attachment arms on the bottom of the keys. Use a very small electronics screwdriver to make sure both arms get attached. If the arms are missing then you'd have to find another machine for parts to get the attachment pieces. It's tricky and a pain to attach but it will. I have 3 HP Pavillions and have had to do this several times.
