The chevy 2.0 diesel engine is run by a timing belt

Multiple reasons for this, have vehicle scanned at autozone or similar for trouble codes

run the fault codes and check for problems in the transmission. Engine lights also cover problems in transmissions ,not just the engine. I would look for a problem VSS sensor.

I have a 2008 Chevrolet Captiva LTX VCDI 2.0; Of late when I started the engine and engaged the gear the vehicle would take time to start moving steadily. I came to realize that there was leakage of transmission oil. The technicians sealed the pipe. It seems at this time the oil had almost got finished because when I started out the car started to have problems moving! Then we refilled the oil...but with the wrong hydraulic fluid instead of the recommended DEXRON VI realized later. The problem persisted when I tested driving the gear change could not occur from 1 to 2 and now even with no.1 a strange hissing sound could be heard.
the problem there no GM DEALERS in this area...Tanzania.

Anybody, please assist what to do!

its no jeep, at all, not even in the ball park.....
my wild guess is its really and Isuzu engine.
find real engine , maker and designation, and fixing it is much easier.

Use a good grade of 15w40 for a diesel engine. Use Shell rottella as that seems to be the best.
