If you are referring to the output connector on the back, it is there to connect to external devices that require platter speed information.

Either the pitch control is damaged, or your drive system is damaged. Unfortunately for either case, your going to need some professional assistance.

Please recheck all connections from the 'needle' to the end of your hook-up cable. Check with a continuity checker if you have one (volt/ohm meter will do nicely)

you can use any type of software such as VDJ Traktor or Serato as long as you have timecoded vinyl and a external sound card like scratch live of the maya 44usb or native instruments 2 4 8 10 will work .
