Check ink cartridge in SHARP UX-B700

There is a Fax in memory. Either, the machine has a paper jam, is out of paper, or needs the ink cartridge replaced. Fix the above and the fax will print and the machine should work in Fax mode again.

For a unit with paper and no paper jam, try adjusting the paper stack and check if the unit picks up the paper properly. If you have ink in the cartridge, try cleaning the print nozzles and contacts. If a nozzle cleaning from the unit doesn't work, do it manually. Use a damp cloth (lint-free) and wipe in one direction only. Dampen the cloth with bottled or distilled water for best results. The cartridge for that printer is the Sharp UX-C70B. Go online to any big box store and search using the cartridge number. It should cost you around $37 for a new cartridge.

Try to reinstall the cartridge and press NEW, then go through alignment process.

Look at your NEW print cartridge again, very carefully. I'll bet there's another piece of tape on the bottom of it. That's what happened to me.

It is not impossible to get a brand new bad ink cartridge. I've seen lots of bad ones.

it sounds like either you didn't peel off the plastic cover the ink cartridge or it is a defective cartridge.

I replaced my new $40 cartridge with another new cartridge and it worked.

chose from setup menu on fax erase document in memory or etc.

wipe off the contacts on back ink cartridge with a microfiber towel moistened with alcohol also wipe of the printhead (area where ink cartridge contacts the paper) then reinstall and try printing.
