Have you turned it off COMPLETELY? Just pressing the power button doesn't do the job. You need to hold the power button until you get the shut down tone (or until you can see the screen confirming that the phone is being shut off).
Often shutting it off completely and letting it stay off for a MINIMUM of 30 second can release the memory and stop a lot of strange activity.
If that doesn't solve the problem, you may need to check your input device. (I'm not familiar with this phone, but if you have a keyboard with real buttons, you may have spilled something on it and it may be shorting out, or it may have been crushed and the buttons might be jammed--if you have a screen only keyboard, you may need to have your phone looked at since your digitizer may have a fault.
