What does it mean when an intel pro/wireless 5000 lan pci carf blinks orange and wont pick up any wireless networks

The Intel WPCI5000 adapter operates at IEEE 802.11a-(1999 standards on a frequency in the 5GHZ range). Modern routers, for IEEE 802.11b/g, operate at 2.4GHZ and cannot talk to your wireless adapter. You need to have a compatible adapter in your computer such as a Tenda-150Mbps-Wireless-Adapter-W311MI available from Amazon for about $9.

That means the type of security key you are selecting is different with the type on Router. Change the type like WEP.WPA, WPA-2 and try entering the same key.

I had this same problem this weekend. This is a 802.11 B card. It can use WEP and WPA for network security/encryption. You can find the driver here -> http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67214

Once you download the file run it and install. Your wireless card will then work.

Note: This adapter will not support WPA2 type network encryption. It will only run at speeds up to 11Mbps on the 2.4GHz band. Make sure you have set you router to support this older format.

Not enough info per problem description. Not all 1900 series laptops have wireless cards installed, and not all 1900 series laptops are ready to handle wireless cards, either. Need to know what model your computer is, what wireless card you're using, ... C'mon. Let's have it...

Check with this tip.
Check if router is working on Net using a Lan cable to connect your PCs and check if you can browse from PC..
If Internet OK check if radio is enabled in your Belkin router.
Then check if your SSID broadcast is enabled in your router.
Check if Router and PCI Wlan adapter are on same WLAN standard A,B, G, or N and disable every security protocol (WEP or WPA)
Define a new SSID name and check if you see your Wlan on PC.
Restore your security as soon as connection established.

Hi, if you Google "Drivers.com" you will find a driver for almost everything ever for a computer.
You will be asked to register as a member but this is free and gives you access to the whoe list of drivers.
