Can you change the port where the embroidery card attaches on a Brother SE-350?

My daughter forced an embroidery card into the port on my machine and I think it bent the pins inside. Can that be replaced? I can find just about every other part online except for this part.

Hi Marla,

If your machine supports a USB connection to your computer, you may be in luck getting designs to and from your machine. In the meantime, the bent pins may cause issues, but if there a standard
USB cable A to B (printer cable) available you may try that. If I recall there will be some settings to check but that is another way to get designs in and out of the machine.

Cheers,

SOURCE: Brother SE-270D Jams below needle plate

Comment by margecam52, posted on Aug 12, 2008 It's the bobbin thread. Also, it does not have to be Brother brand. Any 60wt thread will work. I get mine at http://www.threadart.com
They have it on large cones, and I use a cone holder to fill my bobbins. I have not had a single problem since. I like this thread because it has a sheen to it. I also have a longarm quilting machine & I use this bobbin thread 95% of the time. Also, be sure to check the bobbin area (remove the plastic & the metal plates) for lint buildup... I have a small, soft artists paint brush that I use to remove the lint build up with. I check after every embroidery run.
And for the thread not coming through...mine does it when I change thickness of threads. There is an adjustment wheel on the front of the machine, I turn that...seems to make the difference...not even sure that is what it's for...but it works for me.

SOURCE: belt slipping on brother SE 350 sewing machine

Hi - if you purchased your machine recently, I recommend that you exchange it. If you can't return or exchange the machine, check the paperwork that came with the machine - a phone number for Brother customer support should be in that paperwork; it might even be in the manual. If your machine is still under warranty, they can tell you where you can have it repaired.

Belts for these machines are not available "off the shelf", and the machines are not designed for consumer repair. However, if you've already taken the covers off and determined that it really is the belt that is the problem, take the belt to a Brother or Babylock dealer and purchase a new one. If you haven't taken the covers off, you can search the web for a service manual to determine the part number you need to order and find the instructions for making the repair - the service manuals are available on Brother's site, but you really need to dig around to find them ( I did it once, but haven't been able to find them since).

Please keep in mind that if your machine is still under warranty, you will void the warranty if you attempt to repair the machine yourself.

Good luck,
Ginny

SOURCE: Brother PED-Basic Driver?

Make sure you have the correct hoop size on the program selected, if it is other than 100x100 on the smaller machines, the designs don't show up when you try to embroider one.

Will bernina art-link software work on my brother se 400 machine?

.pes - A stitch-based file format used by Brother and Babylock embroidery home sewing machines. .pec - A stitch-based file format used by Brother and Babylock embroidery home sewing machines. .hus - The stitch-based file format used by Husqvarna/Viking embroidery home sewing machines.
==========================================
The .exp format is a commercial format while .art is a BERNINA-specific embroidery format. Embroidery designs in .art format keep their fancy fill effects even after rescaling the designs whereas the effects may be lost when editing .exp format files on the machine.

When I stitch out my applique with my Brother SE350, sometimes the satin border doesn't align with the fabric tack down stich. It makes the applique look like a mistake. It looks perfect on my computer...

Check to see if it is a free design, sometimes this is why they are free. (they arn't perfect) or you could try and edit the design yourself and see where the problem is. It's not hard when you have been shown how, but far to complicated for me to explain, try and find someone (maybe in a machine embroidery club) to show you how. Good Luck!

Feed dogs stuck in down position

The feed dogs come up as soon as you start sewing again. Just make sure they're in the up position and start sewing.

Make sure that your needle is put in the correct way, there is a groove in the front of the needle, check with your finger nail, this is usually to be facing you, and make sure the thread is going through the tension holder correctly do not have the foot down when you are threading the machine,as this stops the thread from going through the needle tension holder.

Is it the spring that goes on the hopping foot? That's the foot used for quilting/embroidery. Check your accessory list...see if this might be an extra spring for that.
