SOURCE: the freezer is cold but not cold enough to make ice

Check the back (interior) lower half of the freezer wall. If you see a frost build up, you either have an issue with your defrost cicuit (timer, heater, thermostat) or the evaporator (freezer) fan is not running. If there is not a frost build up on the back wall you either have a sealed system (weak compressor, leak or restriction) problem....or the condensor fan motor is not working. This would cause the compressor to overheat and shut down until cooled, and prevent the deep freeze.

Look behind the toe plate for the tech sheet. Hopefully it was not removed with the packing materials. If it is missing try here

Is condenser running? Verify amps to be sure both fan and compressor are operating. Should have 2 wires to compressor and 1 to fan on top of contactor. Then on the capactor (herm) terminal is the remaining compressor wire. On fan and c would be the 2 remaining wires for the outdoor fan motor. Then 1 more wire on c that jumps to the top of the contactor on the other side to which the first fan wire connects. GOOD LUCK.

Cold air is not circulating to the fridge section in my side-side ARS9167AW amana. Also lower freezer section is very cold. This problem happened 2 years ago and a fridge repair service fixed it for $200....
