SOURCE: Toshiba model number 62HM95 62' makes grinding noise

SORRY, This is from the authorized Toshiba parts center:

"The color wheel, lamp fan, lamp fan holder are parts of the LIGHT ENGINE only." It means the wheel is not sold separately and there is not even listed in the breakdown for the set a part number.

A replacement light engine (optical light engine) retails for 456.00 list and is sold on an exchange basis only.

Toshiba 62hm95 makes whirring noise and color is distorted

Your color wheel is going out and needs to be replaced. Toshiba does not list a part# for the color wheel. They expect you to have the whole light engine rebuilt. You should be able to find one on ebay. Or other sites like that. Good luck to you.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Humming noise

Hello,

The light enigine shouldn't be that difficult to replace if you have a decent amount of time and are moderately mechanically inclined. You can order the original Toshiba replacement light engine for this model (62HM95) from a major Toshiba parts distributor at the link below:

Toshiba #62HM95

I am wondering if this sound might be your color wheel spinning. The color wheel often makes a low humming noise as it spins. Try checking to see if this is not the source of your noise. You need the color wheel to generate the colors needed to turn the B&W picture generated by the DLP into a color picture.

Thank you,
