The print had a paper jam in the rear unit and under the toner. I have already removed both paper jams but the print is still showing the error message. Can someone please let me how to get rid of the message so I can try to print again?

I have the same problem. Answer? PUt the piece of junk in the trash and never, never buy brother products again. I called Brother and they had a refurb for more than what it cost me originally!!!!!

Sometimes while clearing the jam (if there was one) you may leave a bit of paper left behind which obscures a sensor causing it to think there is paper still in the paper path, or sometimes even paper dust can do it. Try a bottle of compressed air and blow the path out very well. Get a bright light (good flashlight) and very throroughly eyeball the paper path for any "foreign" objects...

Most of the time the jam will be behind the printer. Open up the back door and see if you see any paper stuck in on the roller. Also remove the printer cartridge by pulling on the piece sticking out. Easily slides back in, so no sweat on that part. Let me know if you have already tried these methods.
If that doesn't work. Unhook the Data cable on the back of the printer, shut the printer off, and unplug the power cable from printer. Wait about 3 minutes and plug everything back in and turn back on the power switch. This should erase the queued errors.

Look for a small piece of paper that may be stuck in the switch indicating a paper jam.

The paper is probably jammed between the fuser and the rear cover if you can't see it.
