It's not clear what you're saying, but if the machine is overflowing (ie overfilling) then you need to look at the pressure system eg blocked pressure hoses, faulty pressure switch, pressure hose off anything like that, or even a faulty fill valve allowing the water to continue to fill although you would hear that when the machine was off. If you mean from the dispenser then it could be all of the above plus a blocked dispenser or drawer. hope this helps.
If the machine is allowed to dry out completely before being reconnected to the mains, very little damage will be caused.
The reason for the 'overflow' is more important, it would take a considerable amount of water to overflow from the soap box.
It can cause a lot of rust on the metal parts of washer and could cause wires to short out
Hi,
Thank you for contacting fixya.com.
This can be caused due to faulty water inlet valve or water level
switch.
1) Turn the power off to the washer.
2) Turn the water back on.
3) If water continues to enter the washer, the problem is the
water inlet valve.
Also a defect or an obstruction in the water-level switch may cause
the water not to stop. So the machine overflows. This switch senses the water
level in the clothes tub. It's usually a diaphragm device with a small, clear
tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As
the water level in the tub increases, the pressure on the air in the tube
increases. When the pressure reaches a certain level, it activates the switch,
shuts off the water, and signals the timer to begin the agitate cycle. You can
either clear any obstruction in the tube or replace the water-level switch.
