thnx for the response, the title is an Aiptek Trio Mini Pen Cam HD. as for installing the software no i chargedthe battery and away it went. The problem is i can take videos and still photos but once i try to play them back on the device nothing appears for the still photos just a black screen, and the videos are blurred but with a bit of sound. Another thing i found is when i downloaded my photos to dropbox i could print the original photos off. OK, is your GS4 still on KitKat or do you have an unofficial ROM?
One way to find your pictures is to download a file manager, I recommend ES File Explorer. You can also download QuickPic. QuickPic will show you all the pictures from your phone as a file manager, very good indeed. Try those first to see if you can find your pictures.
Also, if you have G+, sometimes you pictures are save in Photos within G+.
When you say 'played back', do you mean viewed on the camera screen, or after downloading to your computer ? If the latter, it could be to do with the software you are using - try FastStone.
The process only works one way...you can download pictures taken on your camera to your computer but you cannot download pictures from your computer to the card and play them back on your camera.
If you are using a card reader of some sort (other than using the camera to download the images), it may not be SDHC compliant. Have you tried using the camera to download the images via the supplied cable? If you've taken the images in RAW format, that could also be the problem. Try using a 2gb or smaller card in the camera to take some images and then download them using your usual method. If it works with the 2gb card but not with the 4gb, it's likely your reader isn't SDHC compliant.
Videos generally run in AVI mode. When putting pictures into the computer, place them in the "My videos" folder instead of the "My pictures" folder. This should solve your problem.
I worked with the camera until I tried every possible combination of settings. Once I set the camera back to video instead of camera function and plugged it into the computer then it gave me a reading of Mass Storage and downloaded the 64 pictures I had taken and offered me the chance to save to a folder! Ok...your title says camera but your post says camcorder. If it is a digital camera then nothing is wrong with you camera or laptop. Usually the video taken on a digital camera is of poor quality and vice versus with a camcorder the pictures are of poor quality. They make it seem like you can do both with exception to newer camcorder which has a 6 to 8 mp camera built in.
