I don't think that's available on laptops; I've never seen it on Toshiba models. There is usually a small battery to save BIOS info and keep the clock going when the main battery is out. It's either under the keyboard or near the memory or wireless card compartment. Remove the main battery and leave the adapter unplugged. Open the compartments and look for a a connector with just a red and black wire connected to it - if you see it going to a coin cell, that's the one you want. Unplug it and wait ten seconds. Plug it in and put everything back together. If you got the right connector, your computer will probably go straight to BIOS and ask you to set the time and date.

How do i find the bios jumpers on my laptop

Generally speaking laptops DON'T HAVE BIOS jumpers. Most just have a 'RESET BIOS SETTINGS' control in the BIOS menu itself. Obviously the system calendar clock and some other settings are reset by removing the CMOS battery which is a coin sized battery connected to the motherboard (sometimes mounted in a socket). SOME laptops DO HAVE a bank of mini-switches mounted on the motherboard, such as a SONY VAIO FX702. Your CMOS battery is an NiMH rechargeable type which is low maintenance, shouldn't need changing generally. This is from your manual:

Bios password

Assuming you're looking to reset the BIOS password of the notebook...you'll have to reset the BIOS.
Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power source. Turn the laptop over, remove the battery. Remove the HDD too just to be safe. Remove the panel for the memory module. Underneath there should be a jumper which is know as the BIOS jumper. Take a piece of wire with both end exposed. Place one end on each of the BIOS jumper and hold them in place. While still holding your make shift jumper in place, turn on the laptop. You should see the Toshiba logo appear then go away. After that you should get a "no bootable device" message because we remove the HDD in an earlier step.
The password is no longer set...so shutdown the laptop.
Now, reinstall the HDD, battery, and memory panel. Turn on the laptop and you should no longer be prompted for a password.

Cmos and jumper postion in Toshiba laptop tecra 3a

On some Toshiba laptops, there are, under the mylar covering underneath the ram modules, two silver solder points which if shorted out when the laptop is powered on, will force a bios reset eliminating the password.
The points mentioned (jumpers) are usually labelled J1 or Clear Cmos

Don't know BIOS password

Here's how to reset password

Resetting a Toshiba BIOS Password KeyDisk will reset the BIOS password on Toshiba laptops.
Older Toshiba laptops can be convinced to boot without their power-on BIOS password by attaching a dongle to the parallel port which crosses a number of the pins. The pin out is:
Pins 1-5-10 2-11 3-17 4-12 6-16 7-13 8-14 9-15 Some Toshiba's can be convinced to bypass the startup BIOS password if you hold down the <LEFT-SHIFT> key while booting the system.

Is there a backdoor bios password for a Toshiba laptop (model #1805-S253)? A previous employee password-protected the bios but "neglected" to tell us what it is.

The Backdoor passwords are not determined by the laptop manufacturer - the backdoor passwords depend on the manufacturer of the bios itself. Is it an Award biosor an AMI bios etc?
