Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

If your electric oven is not heating then you probably have a bad heating element in your oven. This is not that hard to fix yourself...

It is possible that you have one or a combination of a few different problems here.

If your heat pump will not come on but the air handler works, the first thing you want to check is that the circuit breaker and disconnect for the heat pump are both on.

The next thing to check is that the heat pump is receiving a call for heat from the thermostat. If there is no call for heat at the heat pump, then your problem is most likely a low voltage issue. This could range from a failed thermostat to a low voltage wire that is bad.

If your heat pump has high voltage supplied and there is a call for heat present with no heat pump running, you are going to be isolating the problem to the heat pump itself. The problem could lie within any of the electrical components in the heat pump from a bad capacitor, a failed contactor, or a failed defrost control board.
