I can only assume you mean drag, not brag. That being said, it really sounds like your running belt needs to be tightened. I will attach a link with instructions on how to do this. The adjustment should be found at the rear of the machine.

As soon as I step on the belt it quits running

You will hard pressed to believe this but the walk belt is most likely bad creating too much friction. If the walk board is grooved under the belt it must be replaced. If the walk board is smooth and glossy leave it alone. I have seen this issue with a slightly used newer treadmill.

While walking on my tredmill the belt jerks

Sometimes mine can "****" when my body weight on the front foot slightly slips the belt forward before I put full pressure on it and it slides back into normal walking. Don't know what your natural walking style is like, but this tends to happen when I am "heavy" on my heel with that forward step. Could also be that your belt needs lubricating (buy from sports stores).

How do you adjust a belt on a Proform 385X. It is

If the walking belt is off-center, first remove the keyand UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. If the walking belt has shifted to the left, use the hex key to turn the left rear roller bolt clockwise 1/2 of a turn; if the walking belt has shifted to the right, turn the left bolt counterclockwise 1/2 of a turn. Be careful not to over tighten the walking belt. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is centered

Belt stops running while standing on the treadmill

Either front roller may need to be replaced or the motor drive belt may need to be adjusted. This problems are caused when a walking belt is worn out and in need of replacement. Too much tension can cause bearing failure in the motor and the front roller and front roller pulley failure.

Motor drive belt adjustment: The motor drive belt is adjusted independently from the walking belt. Some newer models have an auto tensioner which is a lever that has a wheel that puts pressure on the drive belt and a spring on the other end that automatically loads the belt to the proper tension. You should not adjust these since they are preset. Tension can be affected slightly by adjusting the tension of the walking belt but if you have a slipping problem, the drive belt will require replacement. If your drive belt is too loose, it will slip on the front roller pulley or the motor pulley. If it is too tight, it will increase your amp draw to the point that you may have an electronics or motor problem. Due to this, it is better to be on the safe side and replace a drive belt rather than risk over tightening it.

How do I adjust tension on walking belt

A good way to test your walk belt to see if it is slipping is to stand on side rails with treadmill running about 4mph and while holding onto handrails keep one foot on the side rail and put your one foot on the center of the belt in a slight stomping motion,if the belt is loose you will feel it slip. To adjust a loose belt tighten each screw at back of treadmill 1/2 tun each until the slippage goes away. Be sure not to over tighten belt as this will cause excessive wear.If the belt has shifted to one side and you need to center it, go to the side it has shifted to and turn the screw clockwise 1/4 turn at a time until it centers.
