  1. Remove as much of the leftover contents from the fondue pot as possible with a spoon.
  2. Sprinkle powdered dishwasher detergent over the ooey-gooey dried out cheese or icky sticky chocolate and cover with hot water.
  3. Let sit for 20 minutes.
  4. Rinse. Then use a microfibre cloth to wash away debris.

How to remove scatches from a glass top range.

The reality is, scratches in glass are almost impossible to remove or polish out and trying to do so will probably damage the glass further. I use a flat paint scraper and dishwashing detergent to clean my glass top range which is scratch free. If you are making reference to everyday scratches that are left by pans and saucepans, then they are almost unavoidable and I guess considered normal by the manufactures and they say it has no bearing on the amount of heat delivered to a cooking pan.

My water pan is corroded. What can I use to recoat the pan? Do I sand down to base material then prime then coat?

Sand off all the corrosion to bare metal. Use a metal etch to scrub it down (any phosphoric acid will do), this can be gotten at Home depot or any home center in the paint section (also know as naval jelly). Clean the area with clean water after applying the acid and let dry. The naval jelly will leave a slight coating after the rinsing and this will prevent rusting afterward. Prime the metal with automotive primer, 2 or 3 coats will do. Let each coat dry completely. Use an epoxy paint (I've used single stage polyurethane and 2 part mixable epoxy type). The 2 part mixable epoxy is more expensive but lasts indefinitely and gets very hard). McMaster-Carr Supply has these products and they can be ordered on line. Apply the paint, let it dry according to the manufacturers directions and you shouldn't have any problems.

Do you need a special fondue pot to heat up oil?

Generally a fondue pot can be used for many types of fondue ie meat, cheese etc. but if you're a fan of meat fondues that involve very hot oil to cook the meat, I would suggest buying a hot oil fondue set as it can withstand much hotter temperatures.

Recoat a pan

Many grocery store department bakeries send their pans or trays out to get re-coated on a regular basis. Perhaps look up a bakery in your area

When i turn the microwave on the top of the appliance "arcs" i have not used since it has done this - called for a service call. anything i should do now?

unplug it so no one uses it by mistake, it probably has some paint off the cabnet behind the mica guard and the microwaves are arcing off the metal, it will need to be recoated with special microwave paint

Bushmaster 8 inch reflector fine mirror scratches

No they cannot be removed. The mirror would need to be recoated, which is too expensive for your scope.

However, tiny scratches probably will not affect your view through the telescope. (maybe)

Seasoning the bread pan in my Bread machine

Teflon is a coating. Seasoning is not the term for your problem. It needs a new pan. Or get it recoated. Good luck.

There's nothing you can buy that'll reliably recoat the plates, the process of getting something that nothing sticks to to stick to the metal plates is complicated and takes special equipment.  (it's not just paint).

however, there's a company that says they'll recoat the plates for you:

I don't have any personal experience with them, but I'm checking with them on a pot that a roommate boiled dry until the teflon all peeled off *frown*

cheers.
