My printer does not print on both sides. I put on the print optuion/preference/finishing/ print on both sides (manually). After that I send the dcocument to print, and shows the pop up windows "print on both sides" where is a botton to pres continue after prints the even pages. In my case, this button appears gray, as if you already pressed it. So the document starts to print and continue to the end of the document, printing all pages. I already tried reinstallin the software with the old and the nwe driver from your website. But it does the same. Hope you can help me. I have windows vista Best regards

Hi,
I understand that the printer is printing garbage when you are trying to print from internet.
Please follow the below given instructions to resolve the issue.
This issue can occur if the data send from the application from which you are printing, is using the PC-8 character set. This will produce a smiley face or garbage charters each time an unsupported escape code is sent by application. To know the character set, please contact the manufacturer of the application.
Also, you can follow these steps to disable the power managment in the comoputer.
1. Right-click My Computer, choose properties
2. Click Hardware tab, click Device Manager button.
3. Click the + next to Universal Serial Bus Controller.
4. Right-click USB Root Hub, choose properties.
5. Click Power Management tab.
5. Uncheck the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device
to save power.
6. Click Ok.
If the issue persists, follow the instructions from the below given weblink to resolve the issue.
Here is the web document:

Just copy and paste the entire link into the Internet browser's address bar and press enter.
This should resolve the issue.

This is the natural process for the you the user to make sure that you have the correct media in the manual feed. You can change this in the paper handling menu within the menu options set the tray 1 media type to plain and auto continue also correct paper size. You can also put the paper back into the main cassette and this will not cause the problem.
Thanks J

what application are you printing from? also, can you do a print preview to see if there are more than one page? if that works, then your printer mechanism is not following the driver information from the print queue manager.
SOURCE: HP Officejet J5780 All-In-One Won't print double sided with Vista
You can install an instance of the Deskjet 6500 series drivers using "Add Printer", local printer, (use the same port the J5780 is installed on). You can have this co-exist with the J5780 driver and you could name it J5780 Duplex if you wish.

This very simple solution works on my Business Inkjet 1100.
1) Turn the printer off, then back on, to clear the error.
2) Set your computer's clock back to a date prior to the cartridge expiry date.
3) Print something, (any documents will do).
4) Set your computer's clock forward to the correct date and the printer should still print, and ignore the expired cartridges.
My
1100 re-checks the cartridges and dates occasionally, but not frequently (it has
been about two months between checks) so you might need to repeat this
process every two months or so until you have used up your expired
cartridges.
This solution is much easier than dismantling the printer and changing/removing wires!
