Tub shakes like crazy , have to stop machine , please help

Your maytag washer tub and basket assembly sits on a base counter balanced by 6 springs. Is is possible to move the tub around by hand. The best test is to start a spin with the unit empty of cloths, allow the tub to reach speed for a few seconds, lift the lid and check the tub position after it stops, if the tub is off center with the lid opening, re center the tub and run spin again. If your tub returns to an off center stopped position you most likely will need the base kit replaced. The base kit replaces the entire bottom of the unit along with new springs, and snubber, if so packaged per your application. Maytag experienced a defective stamping dye when these bases were stamped, thus they were stamped crooked. This test is performed with the machine it's self relatively level on the floor. If the tub assy leans and favors any one direction while you are trying to center it with the lid open, you may have a rusted or broken counter spring in side the unit. Pleazer Appliance...

First check if the machine is level .Also makes sure you do not have an unbalanced load. Lint filter between the tubs is loose/broken, tub nut and drive block is worn, bad brake, worn spin tub are some various reasons when washer shakes in spin cycle.

A couple of things may be going on. One is that the load may be quite heavy and is sitting to one side of the tub so to speak, causing the unit to be out of balance. The other is that the leveler feet may be out of adjustment which would require re-leveling. Your "shaking like crazy" description makes me think the leveling issue is the likely problem. Aside from the bad behavior, either cause can be hard on bearings.........and sanity. Good luck.

When my washer did that, I found that the shocks that hold the tub were bad...

are the feet on the washer adjusted right the tub movement is normal

There is a skid plate between the basket support and the A frame. If that is not positioned correctly it will shake. Also make sure the machine has leveled out by tipping forward and allowing the self leveling legs to operate(making sure they move freely)

sounds like the rubber dampener straps that connect the tub to the chassis are broken, with the washer OFF open the lid and see of the tub will move more than an inch or so by hand in any direction. not a real hard fix if this is indeed the problem, but it could also be the tabs that hold the straps to the tub itself, if this is the case then it becomes a little more difficult. good luck

Alot of times with front loader machines they will shake at high speed even if the machine is level. The floor may not sturdy enough. You can put a piece of 3/4" plywood or something like that under you machine. I know putting plywood under your machine is not the best looking thing, but it should help the shaking. The product just needs to to sturdy.

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

IF THIS IS A BRAND NEW INSTALLATION - be sure you have removed the basket shipping pins (4) that secure the tub during shipping.
