HP deskjet 1512 says out of paper and its not

when you open the door to install the cartridges , hp normally have a decal showing you how to remove and install on the inside of the door
other than that go google and type in --user manual for HP deskjet 1512 printer/copier --
look for the pdf download version

Try to download the program from the internet.

If it supports the printer with an OTG cable, then use one.

Although you have selected the paper size A3 your printer HP Deskjet show unexpected paper size.....
1. clean the carriage area ...........
2. change the carriage sensor....... If not solved
3. you need to replace carriage unit.

Pretty well all printers come with two places to load paper: one paper tray and one feed tray.

Is the button on your computer or the setting in your word processor teling it to load from the other tray?

It could be a problem with the paper feed roller above the tray or a sensor problem.

It should be looked at by a service technician.

I also had this problem, your solution was spot-on, remove the top cover and control panel and re-seat the encoded strip. simple.
