If you expose the camara to dampness, the screen will go blank. It may work eventually after it dries out. Check to make sure the batteries are good and installed properly.

the connector between the LCD and internal parts of the camcorder is called RIBBON. based on what you said, you need to call Samsung hotline for repair of your camcorder
Look fo the switch that has two setting. one of them will say LCD and the other Migt EVF if you have a view through your view finder this is your problem.

Turn camera off. Try removing the fully charged batteries for 30 seconds, reinsert batteries and turn camera on. Hope this helps.
Well, you're not going to fix this without opening up the camera.
The LCD screen should have to wires going to it. One is for the light that illuminates the LCD. That one is obviously working. The other is for the LCD itself - it sounds like that isn't. Either the LCD needs replaced, or that cable is loose or damaged. I'd suggest opening up the camera, finding that cable (it will likely be a thinner cable than the other), and checking for loose connections, or an obvious break or sharp bend in the cable.
Unfortunately, even if you find the cable is damaged, I'm not sure you can get it replaced. If you're not confident you can take this apart and put it back together properly, I'd suggest either taking it to a repair shop, or just using it as is. I'd hate to see you damage it further. If you are confident, however, check that cable. If it's good, contact Samsung about a replacement LCD.
