When printing we would go into the program to print from tray to and to test if the printer is using tray 2 tray 1 is removed. when the printer starts to process the job it gives the alert that tray 1 needs to be reinserted and it wont finish the job until tray 1 is replaced. I went in to the print server we have here and configured the tray and the paper type and also did the same on the printer and it still doesnt print from tray 2.
Its not reading there is any paper in the slot so will not load from this draw. the is a switch that when paper is installed it lifts it to tell printer paper loaded. like any switch they can fail.
The following forum discuses and resolves the technical
queries. Even I am also helped out of that.I have a
publishing business and have several brands of printers.
However, I have an issue regarding the OKI printer that It
is not able to communicate with the Office 365 SMTP server.
It is displaying out an error prompt that
"Cannot communicate with the SMTP server.Recheck the SMTP
server name. I have gone ahead and called the OKI support
and followed the basic configurations and
troubleshooting stepshttps://supportprop58.com/office-setup/h...
Suggest if I am missing out anything.

SOURCE: Selecting a default paper source for a specific program
That what you want is not TRAY 2 it is Manual feed!! That is need to select to be default or you can empty Tray1 and feed Tray2 and select feed automatic! This both solution will work you choose witch appropriate to you!!!
good luck
The tray 1 is same as manual tray, it opens in front of you.
normally (in windows) you need to configure printer driver from printers => properties => printing preferences.
SOURCE: want to print from letter
select the proper tray from the properties of printer. the properties could get by right clicking on printer icon.
SOURCE: Will not print with giving an error message
on left side of tray are 3 fingers, for letter size paper bottom 2 are out, next one in. verify slider on bottom of tray is in place. Essentially paper not sensed correctly. print config page and see paper size
