Asus 53 n laptop

Hello,
1. option - Removing Windows 8 by installing Windows 7 over it*:
Go to the disc where you have the Windows 7 installer.
Then right click, click on Mount, when done, click on the Setup file and install Windows 7 over your current system.
2. option - Keeping Windows 8 and installing Windows 7 alongside it**:
Restart the Windows 8 system, before Windows logo shows up, keep pressing F12, then choose the disc you have Windows 7 .iso file on.
3. option - Running it from a DVD, but keeping/removing*** Windows 8:
a) go to the disc where you have the Windows 7 .iso file installer.
b) move the .iso file to a easily accessible place like Desktop.
c) then right click on the .iso file and click on Burn disk image, choose the DVD you want to boot from ( You need a readable DVD), and then check the checkbox which says " Verify disc after burning ".
d) click on Burn.
e) when that is done, close all open programs or/and windows and restart your computer, before Windows logo shows up, keep pressing F12, then choose the disc you have Windows 7 installer on.
Note - please read everything carefully. I suggest you to use the 3. method.
* - when in the setup, you have no option to go back to Windows 8.
** - this step might not work, because not all computers support that.
*** - you can choose to either create a new partition on which you will install Windows 7 or install it over Windows 8 by either kepping or not keeping your personal files.
Please reply to this solution: did it help you or not and what improvements in my solutions do you want, and rate my solution from 0-5.

When i bought the unit I had a desktop running on Windows XP. Now I have Woindows 7. How can get a software upgrade to be able to download my data?

Did you upgrade from Xp to Vista first ?

First, you will want to BACKUP ALL of your programs.

Since you did not upgrade to VISTA, you will LOOSE all of your programs when you upgrade to Windows 7, so be sure to backup all of your programs and files.

If you wish, you can use an external hard drive and a program called WINDOWS EASY TRANSFER to make this task easier.

See the link below for this FREE program.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2b6f1631-973a-45c7-a4ec-4928fa173266&DisplayLang=en

Now, for the fun part! Insert the Windows 7 disc into the computer and start or restart the computer.

Follow the onscreen instructions to completely install Windows 7.

You will now need to reinstall each of your programs.

If you used Windows Easy Transfer, you can use the list of programs that it prints out to be certain that you reinstall all of your programs.

Hope this helps.

Is the rio carbon disc compatible for windows 7

Not compatible or not working well with windows 7?

Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver/application you installed is for other versions of operating system. I am also using windows 7 like you so don't you worry, You can still use your old installer/driver from other versions of operating systems. Just remember that before installing any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer/application first, then choose "troubleshoot compatibility". This will allow you to choose on what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.:D rate and vote for me:)) julyallan01_51.jpg

Will not function with Windows 7, what is wrong?

Not all programs that worked in Windows XP will run in Windows Vista or Windows 7.
I suggest you try compatibility mode to see if it helps.

If the program is not compatible, then you may try to install and run the program in compatibility mode.

Use the following steps:

1) Right click on the Program

2) Click on Properties

3) Click on Compatibility tab

4) Select Run this program in compatibility mode and select Windows Vista or whatever operating system the program was running successfully.

Refer to the link here: Make older programs run in this version of Windows

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

If the compatibility is not successful, then try and runthe Program Compatibility troubleshooter:

1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking theStart button.

Then click Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then clickTroubleshooting. Under Programs, clickRun programs made for previous versions of Windows.

2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

If you cannot install a program, insert the installation disc for the program and, using the troubleshooter, browse to the program's setup file, usually called Setup.exe, Install.exe, or something similar. The troubleshooter is not designed to work on programs that have an .msi file name extension.

If you run Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate version, install Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP mode (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx) and execute your software in Windows XP.

If you run Windows 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or VMware Player (www.vmware.com) and install a separate copy of Windows XP (either Home Edition or Professional) for that purpose. You can find virtualization software free of charge that will run on Windows 7 Home Premium.
Hope this helps.

Hi i have an hp officejet 4355 allin one printer that worked well on windows xp. i changed to windows seven and used my hp disck but cannot load the printer. how must i do it. thank you. george weber....

Hi!

The driver or software that's on your disc may not be compatible with windows 7.. According to HP website, HP has not created a driver for your printer that is compatible with windows 7.. But Windows7 has it's own driver for your printer..

Try the ff steps to install the windows 7 driver:
- frist, uninstall the program you loaded from the disc
- go to Control Panel, Look for Programs & Features or Uninstall a program.. it will load the list of all programs in your machine.. Click the entry /entries for HP Printer, then click uninstall button on top of the list..
- or you can reload the disc and it should give you the option to uninstall it..

Then, follow this for the proper installation of your printer..

HOW DO I FINALIZE A DVD DISC CREATED ON MY LAPTOP USING WINDOWS 7 SO THAT I CAN PLAY IT ON OTHER MACHINES?

You can try a freeware program like CD Burner XP which works with Windows 7 as well, you would get a option to "Finalize Disc" before you begin burning the DVD disc, please do note that finalizing a DVD disc which is not rewritable would not allow you to add further data files to it.

A lot of xp programs will run on windows 7, some however have problems, but most should work. Make sure you have all of your installation discs for the programs you speak of.
