Well, the way the question is posed to me, seems very easy to solve that. The machine have two connectors in the back. One says Line and the other says Tel. Just connect the line cable to Line and the telephone in the Tel .The main reason for this two connectors to exist is,the line MUST go to the fax machine first for it to recognize the auxiliary phone, so every time you pick up it, the machine respond to that. As how to operate, memorize numbers, etc, i can only do that by trial, near the machine. You see, in my line of duty, i only repair them, i leave the software for the operator and our rep sales man to deal with. Please try to be more specific. You also have a general functions window,(to activate it, press the white button near the yellow). There you can manage to access, copy, fax & printer details and change them, you can also access the copy (digital) counter. There are a lot of specifications to be adjusted but only in service mode ,reserved, of course, to the technician. Not big secrets, just a bunch of critical data, that, once changed, may leave your machine in a zombie state. Sorry if i cannot be more helpful.

SOURCE: Ricoh Aficio 1232 c SC-101 and SC-142 codes what do they mean?
It is a scanner problem....could be lamp, lens defect, or as simple as the lamp, and lirrors undeer the glass being very dirty, because the code refers to the 'white level"....a calibration that the machine does when switched on. It could be as simple as, the white plate which is underneath the left scale (beside the main contact glass) is dirty (or missing). Try cleaning this (2 screws), and while you're at it, try removing the main contact glass (3 more screws)and cleaning it as well as the scanner bulb, and mirrors (slide scanner to the right with the machine unplugged).
Good Luck

Can't be done..this fax can only operate on a dedicated line, and it picks up right away. Sorry.
SOURCE: Won't receive all pages of a fax. Generating service codes 00-83
That could be caused by a number of things:
Are you connected to the phone line by a very long telephone cable? This can cause extra interference and cause these codes. Or it could be a deteriorated cable...try another one.
otherwise, it could be a fax circuit board problem, but more likely you need to have the 'cable equalizer " adjustment performed in "service mode", which is a fairly simple adjustment for a service tech, but too complicated to explain here.
I hope this helps.
