The knocking noises heard from the Freon moving through the sealed system are perfectly normal and usually do not last long. Since the evaporator coil is mounted in the freezer section, the noise is usually louder there. Some people say it sounds like marbles knocking together.
reach your hand into ice maker assy, is there ice in it and not ejecting??? there are tines that eject the ice, do these move around freely and easily(if so you need a new ice maker they should not turn by hand)
It could be something as simple as you might need to manually defrost your ice maker. There is a auger that moves the ice forward that could be iced up. Try that first.
