Epson CX5500 fault number 1180 Posted by Author imageGuest on 2/17/2013 Details Despite head cleaning and nozzle check several times, the fault persists. What can I do ??

How nozzle check result? Perfectly or Appear "another" lines.
Possibility: waste ink on the bottom plate of the head. Will disappear by itself, when used continuously. Try printing with enabling "Thick paper" option.

Hi I am having a LG VCR GC980W 6 heads HiFi model. There is a bad picture and sound in some cassetes while playing while in another video the same cassetes works fine. I wonder whether it can be belt...

This is adirect drive type and the poor picture quality has nothing to do with the belt.
The fault can be due to
1. fault head- since this is a Hi-Fi type , it is 6 head type. try cleaning the head to confirm, use a clean cassette.
2. Problems in the head amplifier circuit.
3. Check the RF connection to TV.
4. Clean the audio head and use a ordinary cassette to confirm the sound. Also try with a Hi Fi cassette.

If not the head is a suspect.

Errors= head cleaning fault. position fault

head cleaning fault, you need to remove the option for head cleaning.

Poor video quality on vcr and external inputs, dvd ok

Hi this is a very common with vcr's the problem you are having is with the head inside the vcr what you can try is to go out and buy a vcr head cleaning kit this comes in the form of a tape and this will then clean the head for you without having to take the vcr apart.

but have you tried playing a new video to make sure its not the tapes your watching that are at fault, the problem with tapes is that over continued use the quality drops due to the tapes passing around the inside of the video also re-recording damages tapes so bare this in mind, i would try a new tape first then go for the head cleaning kit, if the new tape play rubbish then try the head cleaner and this will improve the quality, if the tape plays ok then its the tapes your using at fault.

you should be able to get a vcr head cleaning kit off the well known auction site or from most electrical stores,

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

VHS loads and begins play - fuzzy lines immediately and screen turns blue - is this fixable? If so, what do you recommend?

Hi
Have you tried a head cleaning tape in vcr as fault might be due to dirt on video head or on the acl head, if this does not clear fault video heads could be faulty is could be costley.

Both Fault and Clean lights are on

It is nearly impossible to make a guess about a hardware fault without any additional information. The most common problem I know of though, is using a cleaning tape too many times. After about 2o uses, they pretty much don't clean anymore. If it's possible that you think you're cleaning the heads, but using too old of a cleaning tape, you may want to replace it. Otherwise, a hardware fault will have to be looked at internally.

Jvc dvx8 video camera head cleaning fault

The cleaning tapes that are available are often ineffective. The heads are cloggd up and need to be cleaned professionally. The only way to clean these now is top open up the unit. This should only be done by a service center as it is easy to cause more damage. Also at the same time, the alignment should be checked.

Picture rolls on playback

Possible causes: the sync signal head is not recording, there is a mismatch between the capstan motor speed and the video head speed, or one of the sync circuits has a fault. Typically, if the picture rolls up or down, it's a vertical sync problem. A horizontal sync fault or tracking mismatch will cause the picture to tear sideways.

Try cleaning the sync head (one of two heads separate from the video head drum; the other is the audio track head), but don't be surprised if doesn't solve the problem.
