DELAY WHEN RECEIVING A CALL

I'm assuming you are using a Plantronics HL10 handset lifter. The lifer is what notifies your headset that it has an incoming call. Try turning the ringer volume up on your phone first and see if that solves the problem. If that does not help, it could be the sensor on the lifter is going out. This could be causing a delay in the response time. The lifter ships with a ring detector that has a 2.5mm jack on one end and a small round microphone on the other end. You could try plugging this into the back of the lifter and setting the microphone next to where the lifter is mounted on your phone. This might help in picking up the sound of the phones ring tones. If that doesn't help you might consider replacing the lifter.

We are using the Plantronics CS55 wireless headsets. The users are complaining that the '3-beep' incoming call alert tones are too loud. We have tried to adjust this tone level by manipulating...

Lowering the ring volume on the phone only decreases the sensitivity of the lifter, which generates the signal to the headset. The signal volume between the two is preset and cannot be adjusted.

8xx plantronics blue tooth will not stop beeping after a call. i powered off the blue tooth and beeps stops but returns after the first call

This issue may be caused by the network and not a defective headset. Changing your phone settings as listed below will in most cases stop the frequent ringing/beeping in your headset while in standby mode. You may want to check with your service provider before changing the settings listed below, as the following activity may cause additional charges on your phone bill. If you can, remove and re-install the phone battery. This should reboot the phone. Go into the MENU > SETTINGS > ROAM. Change roam setting to "ROAMING ONLY". Users will no longer get any Bluetooth headset rings/beeps unless the phone is actually ringing for an incoming call. This is a temporary work around since once the phone is turned off, the roaming setting above is reset. You will need to follow these steps each time you turn on your phone.

I have my backbeat 903 synced to my ps3 and phone how do i switch to my phone when i leave the house and back to the ps3 when i want to use it in gaming

If you have the BackBeat 903 synced (or paired) to both devices, you should be able to toggle between the two seamlessly. The multipoint technology that Plantronics uses to pair its headsets to two devices at once works on a first ring basis. When you're out and about with your phone, the headset will respond only to it (33' bluetooth range for one thing). When you're paired to and having fun on your PS3, if your phone rings, you make the choice to keep playing or answer the phone. You're always in control, one doesn't override the other.

Cant hear phone ring at a distance

Do you have a lifter installed?  You won't hear beeps in the ear unless a lifter is installed.  What type of phone system do you have this hooked up to?  Make sure it's a standard ring you're using and not a funky one.  The lifters tend to not recognize different sounding rings.

Phone doesn't ring in earpiece

Only if you have an HL-10 lifter installed... you will then be able to hear three short beeps in your ear to indicate the phone is ringing.

CS50 headset with lifter not beeping when away

It is the handset lifter that actually picks up the ring tone from the telephone, and not the CS50 itself. The first thing that you want to do is make sure that the ring tone or ring volume didn't change on the phone, because this could throw off how the lifter "hears" it. Also, I'm not sure which lifter your user has.. if it's the larger HL1 (this one has a base that the phone sits on), there is a sensitivity adjustment on the back of the lifter. If is the smaller HL10 which sticks onto the phone (and should be positioned over the speaker grill where the ring tone comes out of the phone), the internal mic may have stopped working and that could be why it doesn't hear the ring anymore. If you have the HL10, you can try using a ring detector cable, this is a little accessory that should have come with your lifter (it looks like a wire with a small speaker on the end of it with double-sided tape). Plug this into the back of the HL10 (there are 2 jacks back there but it will only fit in one, you may need to remove the rubber plug), then stick the little speaker over the speaker grill on the telephone. If this doesn't work, you may need to replace the lifter. Here is a link below with a picture to take a look at the ring detector. Plantronics 46780 01 Ring Detector Cable PLX Headsets Direct

Help

Remote ring detection provides a low tone * triple beep in your wireless headset when you receive an incoming call. This feature requires a handset lifter accessory, such as the Plantronics HL1 or HL10. If you do have a handset lifter but do not hear the remote ring detection, please check the following:

  • Check the placement of the lifter. - Make sure the handset lifter positioned directly over the phone's speaker.

  • Try adjusting the phone's ringer volume. If the phone's ringer is too quiet, it may not trigger the ring detection built into the lifter. Try turning up the ringer volume of your phone.

  • Check the ring tone of the phone. - If your phone's ring tone provides short beeps or plays music, the lifter's microphone may not detect it. Try switching your ring tone to a traditional ring or long beep.

  • Does the phone have different rings? - For example internal calls vs external calls vs transferred calls. Does the phone ring the same for each type of these calls. If so try changing so all calls use the same tone.

  • Attach the optional "external ring detector" cable. This cable plugs into the lifter and provides a small, black microphone. It is included in the plastic bag of lifter accessories. Mount the microphone near your telephone's speaker. Click here for more details.

  • There are 2 versions of the Lifter accessory - HL10 and HL1. The HL1 is a larger older version of the liter with a more sensitive rind detector. Some phones will require the older version of the lifter.

  • Please view the On Line Compatibility Guide to see if the older version (HL1) will be required for your phone.

*Please note the volume of notification beep in the headset cannot be altered, it will always be a low tone triple beep .
