Sound ok, video bad...left half of screen has a darkened circle. The circle is brownish in color. You can see the tv reception through this brownish circle but reception is not clear at all. I checked the OEM lamp and it is clear and functioning.

What is an LCD Pannel (is that the whole screen) and, like I asked in my original question, is it economically feasable to replace or fix it?

    Thanks

HI, ok, This repair will be very expensive. The Light engine is damaged at this point and, it will, eventually, fail soon. This inevitable failure of the engine will render this unit useless. The actual part price is enormous. it will cost 2,956.00 to replace this part. That is the actual part price. the labor is extra.

I would cut my loss and, purchase a new set in this case. the repair is not worth it in my opinion.

HI again. i just thought you should know that the actual replacement Light engine is no longer available for purchase. it has been discontinued. I have check with our suppliers online and, this particular model of light engine is not available.

This will make the decision easier for you. This is basically not a repairable unit at this time. The part you will need ot repair this unit has been discontinued.

I have a Insignia TV Model # E58KT2NKECBYNNG hALF THE SCREEN LIGHTS UP AND THE OTHER HALF HAS VARYING COLOR OF GRAYS VERTICAL i DO HAVE SOUND i WAS CONSIDERING REPLACING T-COM BOARD

Sounds like a bad panel board, meaning the panel is bad and that part isn't replaceable, you can try a tcon but I don't think it will fix it

You still need to get an audio Left and right connected from the video source. And for the digital reception from the antenna source is not possible because your unit is not equipped with a digital tuner(it is NTSC or analog reception only)it needs an add on digital tuner that has an hdmi output.Newer ones now are equipped with digital tuners.

Color is off

Go to MENU on your original remote. Select VIDEO and adjust color.

If you are using certain cables (3 separate cables for video signal), you may have a bad connection on one. Try plugging your cable tv cable directly into the TV to see if it improves.

Last option is a rare color board issue in the TV that needs to be fixed (or replace the TV)

Horizontal color line across the screen

Most likely a bad Vertical IC or bad connections on the vertical IC. don't continue trying it on. If you have a bad connection it could do more damage. You also could damage the CRT ( picture tube ). If you remove the cover and look at the bottom side of the PC bord with a good magnifiing glass you may see what looks like rings around the leads comming from the Vertical IC. The Vertical IC is mounted on a heat sink usually towards the front of the set looking from back. If you do see the rings around the leads try reheating with a solder iron. If this dosen't fix you most likely need a new IC.
