Unit only turns on for a little while and then the reset button trips and it goes off.

Replace the breaker in the house circuit it is probably weak, make sure you replace it with the correct size and don't be tempted to go bigger unless your confident that your wiring is good and can handle a bigger breaker. If the breaker continues to trip you may have a fan that is bad and drawing too many amps

Have a short in unit. Need to check continuity of each component to ground to determine where short is. Also make sure breaker is good.
Turn igniton to on position and put odometer in trip mode, turn off ignition.
Hold trip button in and hold it in as you turn ignition to on position, it will flash
Turn off ignition.
Maintenance light should go and stay off

Make sure the trip odometer is NOT on 'Trip A' or 'Trip B' (ie: just the normal
ODO). With the ignition off, press and hold the reset button. Press the 'Start'
button twice without pressing the brake, but while holding the reset button.
The dash will let you know its resetting, just keep holding the button until it
is done.
2. Make sure the Trip/Odometer is set to "trip A". With ignition off press and hold the reset button. While pressing the reset button, press the start/ignition button twice to turn ignition on.
