There's a loud banging sound from the drum when it's on it's last spin cycle.

Washed a comforter, then, during the last spin cycle, there was a loud banging sound. Now, every load afterward gives the same noise during the last spin cycle. Sounds like the barrel is banging on the inside of the housing, but I don't know how to get into it to fix it, and don't know how to fix it once I do get into it.

SOURCE: banging tumbler during spin cycle

Be certain that nothing got under the rubber skirt, pull it back and look /feel under it .
inside the tub are the large wiper arms solid and not come loose.
open the top access panel (3 screws in top rear )
and open the bottom access Panel (3 screws in bottom front)
Dissconnect power .
Look at the springs and arms that attach to the tub are they secure.
is the large stone concreate slabs secure.
move all these items and push at them all secure?
you can run it while open but the bottom has a switch on front right that has to be closed.
look watch listen.

SOURCE: My model #gltr1670aso makes loud noises during spin cycle

Usually this is due to either the drum support breaking or the back bearing being bad-neither easy to fix- or worth it. Try lifting the drum up and down, if it moves up and down they are bad. I see this a lot, and the price of repair isn't worth it. Craig

Amana top loader washing maching permanently tilted drum & loud banging during spin cycle

I guess you washed some curtains and blankets in it that it spun unbalanced. There are 2 things. One is the one of the suspension springs broke off. Another is the center post is already bent. You may have to check inside. If you are handy, you can take off the cover and check. Suspension springs are dangerous when being replaced. You may have to wear a pair of goggles. With the centerpost, it is difficult to replace. I suggest you call a technician for this.

Loud banging noise during spin cycle

If you balanced the machine, the only other problem could be the load itself. Either the load is too great or if washing a single item its falling to one side, tilting the drum and when spinning it will thump. Try even lodes.

Loud clunking, banging sound during the spin/drain cycle.

the make , model and year are missing but if it is a top loader unit , it indicates that the tub suspension bar motion absorbers have broken and need replacing

Boom and Bang Washing Machine

Bed sheets or comforters will often get out of balance in the spin cycle or during the rinse cycle. Throw some towels in there next time at least 5 big ones. They are engineered to take a little of this banging, it should only happen once in a while.
