It sounds like you are experiencing an issue with the red ink drum on your Risograph MZ1070E printer. The error code t44-513 can be caused by several factors, including a clogged or dirty ink drum, a faulty ink pump, or a problem with the ink sensor.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem:
Clean the ink drum: Use a damp cloth or cotton swab to gently clean the ink drum. Make sure to remove any debris or dried ink that may be clogging the drum.
Check the ink pump: Make sure that the ink pump is functioning properly and that it is not clogged or damaged.
Check the ink sensor: Make sure that the ink sensor is functioning properly and that it is not clogged or dirty.
Check the ink supply: Make sure that there is enough ink in the supply and the ink is not expired.
Check the ink filter: Make sure that the ink filter is not clogged or dirty
Check the ink drum unit: If the issue persist, you may need to replace the ink drum unit
Consult the manual: Consult the manual for specific troubleshoot and service information for your Risograph MZ1070E model.
If you are not familiar with these tasks, it is best to contact a professional or Risograph customer service for help with diagnosing and repairing the problem
All you really have to do is put in the ink color you want and run a bunch of prints. Going from a light to dark color like black is fast--like about 3000 prints. Black to light color is going to be a lot more prints. Best is to print something with heavy ink. the more ink you put out the fast it will change color.
Reset the printer & copier, according with your owner manual. Please make autodiagnostic, read your owner manual. However if the problem persist, go to website from your supplier and get support free via ONLINE chat. God bless you

You can clean it, thats a good idea but,,(and this is messy) roll back the master.. take out the ink cartridge, use a rod to squeeze some ink onto the area, and smooth it out into the screen with a plastic scraper.. Lay the master back over. Keep scrap paper around and print a big black square and run a couple hundred sheets through.. This will work. Messy but will work. If you don't want to manually put some ink on the area.. Print a large black square and run a couple hundred sheets.. see what that does.
lol.. there's no thermal head on a Riso..lol..
Ok..Print a big black square and run the machine maybe 300 prints until it starts pushing ink through, set the machine on darkest setting.. The ink in the screens is just old and sticky.. If you go through a case of paper (5000 sheets) and it still isn't getting better then take off the master and use some varsol and a lint free cloth (LINT FREE!) to dab and clean the whole screen to loosen up the clogged ink.. If that's not working then you really have to take the screen off and clean it first with varsol,, then some soap and water.. You have to be really clean about this because lint or any thing will cause white dots on your print. (hey this happened to me) If you've cleaned it really well you should take a clean scraper and prime the screen area with some fresh ink.. this is messy.. but it will get you going for good..
