I have a hoover hpe236 washer which does a boil wash all the time except on a quick wash

Hi,
I had the same problem when i got my machine, if you slide out the powder and softener tray just behind the face of it on the right hand side you will see a white plastic tab about 2 inchs wide! That plastic tab slides out and has all the programme settings on it!

Watch the motor when it is supposed to be running. If nothing, measure for voltage across the brushes and across the motor power terminals. Make sure the motor will turn freely by hand. If power is present, there may be an open wire to either the field winding or one of the brushes.

Hoover softwave not doing anything except clicking
It sounds like the rotating program controller has failed. It is telling other parts of the machine to do things as part of the wash cycle and the signal is not reaching them. This is an expensive part to replace. Get it fixed under guarantee if its new. If its old replace it, but do not buy a Hoover, they are very cheaply made and fail a lot. If you want a cheap one buy a Zanussi.

Possibly the water level sensor inside is out of order. So, the program only gives the command for filling with water and heating.

I have just fitted new carbon brushes to my hoover HPE236 and there is now a loud screetching noise coming from my machine when the drum is turning.Can you help please
providing there is not a lot of arcing on the brushes the noise will subside when the brushes have bedded in properley. takes about a week.

I just moved into a furnished apartment with a Hoover washer. Please could you explain how to operate it. I have used it twice, but both times it took at least 3 hours to complete the washing.
this is probably because most front load washer heat the water. check if you can adjust temperature or turn off,or check if the washer has a quick cycle for example quick 30 minute cycle.good luck keep me informed

MAchine Boils the water
if the temp sensor is operating ok but the element doesnt switch off there may be a problem with the power board/timer just follow the wires back to find problem.

this is either a belt slip or a squeeling bearing ater seal, if it is not the belt then try doing a boil wash, this often resolves the problem. Regards Advisor
