SOURCE: have LG 1812 front load washer, it is making noise

Unscrew the drain pump filter counterclockwise to remove it from the pump assembly. If it cannot be removed, you need to replace the pump casing (part #3108ER1001B) and the pump filter (part #383EER2001A).

Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Remove the two screws at the rear of the top panel attaching it to the cabinet. Slide the panel rearward then lift it off the washer.

Disconnect the control panel wiring harness from the main board assembly. Pull the dispenser drawer out until it stops then press the locking tab and pull the drawer out completely.

Remove the two screws from the drawer opening then lift the left side of the console and pull it off the cabinet.

Remove the three screws from the upper part of the front panel and the screw from the filter cover.

Insert a putty knife blade or similar flat tool in both sides of the filter cover then pull it out of the cabinet. Remove the screw from the lower side of the front panel.

Open the washer door and remove the wire and spring holding the door gasket to the outer lip of the door opening. Stretch the spring with a pair of needle-nose pliers to clear the wire off the lip of the door opening then remove the wire and spring assembly.

Peel off the door gasket into the drum then tilt the front panel and disconnect the door switch wiring harness from the door switch terminals. Lift the front panel and remove it from the cabinet.

Compress the spring clamps holding the pump inlet and outlet hoses then move the clamps away from the pump casing.

Remove the two screws securing the pump to the base of the washer. Press down the tab at the back of the pump assembly and push the assembly into the washer then lift the pump assembly up and out of the washer. Remove the hoses from the pump assembly.

Unscrew the pump from the casing and inspect the impeller for any damage. Rotate the impeller to check whether there's restriction. Replace the pump (part #4681EA2001D) if the impeller is broken or does not rotate freely.

Install the pump assembly and reassemble the washer by reversing the given disassembly steps.

SOURCE: I neet o replace drain pump on a LG wm1832cw model

its not easy, but you'll have to lay the washer on its back and take off the crate like bottom panel. Discontect all the hoses. Disconnect the electrical line going to the pump. If you can, try and seperate the pump motor from the housing by unscrewing two screws on the housing, which will seperate the motor from the housing, If you cant get to it, I actually broke the screws on the drain filter housing to get it loose. I secured it back with the other front loading screw and some gorilla glue, shouldnt be a problem. I should at least get another 6 years out of this pump. Good luck.

SOURCE: how do you remove the drain pump filter after

Hello there:
the Easiest way that i know of is
First you need to remove the lower axcess panel on the lower front this is done by
using a putty knife and on the on the left and right side of the lower left access panel on front of the machine there are small clips that need to be released press in and upwards on them to remove the rectangular inset.
you might have to remove 1 or 2 screws first if they are there
Next, you will want to make sure that the machine is pulled away from the wall about 2 to 3 feet and tilt it back so you will be able to reach under machine. Next, remove the Phillips screws you can see now that the plastic recess has been removed (not the two at the very bottom, the other ones). Reach under machine and remove pump assembly, which is held in place with a plastic tab on the bottom. If you break the tab, don't worry, it's not really needed as the screws will hold the pump assemble in place just fine. You should now be able to disconnect the electric wire plug and remove the hoses clamped onto the pump. Pump motor is a separate replaceable part.

How do I open to remove the water on an LG tromm front load washing machine to repair/replace the pump?

LG machines normally have a small diameter rubber pipe folded up in the drain pump basket area on the lower left side of the front panel.
Pull out the pipe and remove the small plastic end stopper to allow the water in the tub to drain.

How to take off the drain pump?

Firstly, without knowing the Model or make of your specific washing machine, I will need to give you a solution blindly...

Follow these directions:

http://fixitnow.com/wp/2011/02/11/accessing-and-removing-the-drain-pump-in-an-lg-front-load-washer/

It is a good starting point, even if the name suggests L.G, it is still the basic way of taking out about 70% of washing machine drain pumps.

Hope it helps :-)

The OE code keeps coming up and the machine wont drain I checked and cleared all of the drainage tubes and it still is doing the same thing

If what you have done did not solve your problem, you will have to replace the drain pump motor. It can be done without taking the front off the washer with a little work. Unplug power from machine. Drain water from filter area. Remove screw from filter recess area, then use a putty knife on the side of the recess to pop the rectangular recess out. Remove two phillips head screws passing through metal to pump housing. Pull washer forward about 2 feet and lean it back against the back wall. reach under washer and depress tab holding pump assembly to washer base. It's easiest to remove hoses and disconnect electric plug to pump and completly remove pump assembly to replace pump motor, which is held onto housing by 3 phillips head screws. Reassemble and test.

My LG is a few years old, Model WM1832CW and seems to work in all modes except rinse. It just started this morning and sounds like its slipping and grinding and won't pump the water out. any suggestions....

Replace the pump motor. On your model, it can be done without removing the front panel. Open access door at bottom left of front panel. drain water out small hose. remove screw from plastic recess and use putty knife at side of recess to remove plastic recess. remove screw holding pump. pull machine out 2 feet from wall and tilt it back to rest back edge against wall. depress plastic tab in base to release pump. remove hoses and unplug electrical connection to pump. remove 3 screws holding pump motor to pump housing. install new pump motor and re-assemble.

My LG Front Load washer starts to wash, then when it tries to drain, it stops and shows error code OE. I checked back drain hose and they are not kinked. I removed front filter in bottome left and water...

Hi dear.OE code meaning on Lg washer's"machine unable to drain in 10minutes". You can make a little test. Please remove the filter & pour some water in side drum ,watch for water coming out of filter. If it's slow, tub to pump hose clogged.(there must be some sort of fluff or coin clogging hose)if it's not slow, waters comes out freely, run machine on drain cycle & check the pump motor is it running smoothly? If not change the pump.I hope that helps.Thanks.

Oe message on lg front loader washer model wm2277hb. wont drain or spin. already check the drain filter and hose. what else could be wrong

It is a long drain error and occurs when the washer is not fully drained after 10 minutes of draining. Remove the cabinet cover and check the following:

  1. Drain Pump Connector The connector may be disconnected or disassembled. Reassemble or repair if necessary.
  2. Drain pump coil
Check pump coil resistance between the terminals using an ohmmeter. Resistance should be between 10-20 ohms. If the resistance is too high or too low, replace the drain pump.
  3. Voltage Check the voltage between the connector in step 1 during spin. The voltage should be 120Vac, else replace the main board assembly
Main board replacement:
  1. Disconnect the power connector and sensor switch assembly.
  2. Remove the main board protective cover.
  3. Disconnect the connectors.
  4. Remove the screw on the back of the main board.
  5. Slide the main board to the right then pull it up.
  6. Replace the main board in reverse order above.

Lg washer serial # 308kw00211

That OE is really DE (drain error). Open the access door at the lower left on the front of the washer. Drain remaining water using the small hose. (at least if it is not plugged) Unscrew and remove the large knob. Clean out filter. If filter was clean, you may need a new pump motor, or something may have made it past the filter and is jamming the pump impeller. You can remove the pump without taking the front off the machine. Do an "Ask Me" if you need to do that, and I'll give you further advise.
