Unscrew the drain pump filter counterclockwise to remove it from the pump assembly. If it cannot be removed, you need to replace the pump casing (part #3108ER1001B) and the pump filter (part #383EER2001A).
Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.
Remove the two screws at the rear of the top panel attaching it to the cabinet. Slide the panel rearward then lift it off the washer.
Disconnect the control panel wiring harness from the main board assembly. Pull the dispenser drawer out until it stops then press the locking tab and pull the drawer out completely.
Remove the two screws from the drawer opening then lift the left side of the console and pull it off the cabinet.
Remove the three screws from the upper part of the front panel and the screw from the filter cover.
Insert a putty knife blade or similar flat tool in both sides of the filter cover then pull it out of the cabinet. Remove the screw from the lower side of the front panel.
Open the washer door and remove the wire and spring holding the door gasket to the outer lip of the door opening. Stretch the spring with a pair of needle-nose pliers to clear the wire off the lip of the door opening then remove the wire and spring assembly.
Peel off the door gasket into the drum then tilt the front panel and disconnect the door switch wiring harness from the door switch terminals. Lift the front panel and remove it from the cabinet.
Compress the spring clamps holding the pump inlet and outlet hoses then move the clamps away from the pump casing.
Remove the two screws securing the pump to the base of the washer. Press down the tab at the back of the pump assembly and push the assembly into the washer then lift the pump assembly up and out of the washer. Remove the hoses from the pump assembly.
Unscrew the pump from the casing and inspect the impeller for any damage. Rotate the impeller to check whether there's restriction. Replace the pump (part #4681EA2001D) if the impeller is broken or does not rotate freely.
Install the pump assembly and reassemble the washer by reversing the given disassembly steps.

its not easy, but you'll have to lay the washer on its back and take off the crate like bottom panel. Discontect all the hoses. Disconnect the electrical line going to the pump. If you can, try and seperate the pump motor from the housing by unscrewing two screws on the housing, which will seperate the motor from the housing, If you cant get to it, I actually broke the screws on the drain filter housing to get it loose. I secured it back with the other front loading screw and some gorilla glue, shouldnt be a problem. I should at least get another 6 years out of this pump. Good luck.
SOURCE: how do you remove the drain pump filter after
Hello there:
the Easiest way that i know of is
First you need to remove the lower axcess panel on the lower front this is done by
using a putty knife
and on the on the left and right side of the lower left access panel on front of
the machine there are small clips that need to be released press in and upwards on them to remove the rectangular inset.
you might have to remove 1 or 2
screws first if they are there
Next, you will want to make sure that the machine is pulled away from the wall about 2 to 3 feet and
tilt it back so you will be able to reach under machine. Next, remove
the Phillips screws you can see now that the plastic recess has been
removed (not the two at the very bottom, the other ones). Reach under
machine and remove pump assembly, which is held in place with a plastic
tab on the bottom. If you break the tab, don't worry, it's not really
needed as the screws will hold the pump assemble in place just fine.
You should now be able to disconnect the electric wire plug and remove
the hoses clamped onto the pump. Pump motor is a separate replaceable part.
Check the booklet for instruction it should be easy
