The chair may be in what they call SLOW MODE or the batteries are weak. If you have powered seating on the chair the seat has sensors that make the chair drive slow or not drive at all when the seat is tilted or reclined or raised. A sensor can go bad or get out of position. The joystick could have different programming for different drive modes. Try changing drive modes.

How do I reprogram my invacare pronto m51power chair

You will need to contact a service tech in your area to do this. They should have a special programmer box that can adjust the settings on the chair to improve the chairs performance.

I have a pronto M61. Forward speed is very slow even when adjusted to higher speeds. Turning speed increases normally. Is there a problem in the joystick?

Has this chair got power raiser for seat? if so check it is fully down or check down micro switch. These will not go fast with the seat raised. A safety option built in.

How do I turn off the pronto m41 speed limiter

Hello,

The Pronto M41 does not have a speed limiter per say. If the chair used to go faster than it does now then you may have some kind of problem with the chair. If the chair has always driven' slow, that is slower than the maximum 3.5 to 4 MPH then a Invacare Remote programmer is needed to program the chair to go it's full speed.
Seek a Invacare dealer and ask them if they can check the programming.

Runs too slow.

max speed on most chairs is 5 mph if slower than that u may need to get the controller reprogramed by a tech, take into consideration also ok a wheelchair can be overprogramed in which case batterys wont last as long,or the motors will burn out be sure to tell him to reprogram to default settings only

How do we lock out the fast speed on grandpa's chair so he doesn't hurt anyone?

Ann You will have to contact the provider of Gramp's chair to ask if they have a programmer for Invacare chairs. Then they will have to program the chair for a lower speed. Of course you can turn the speed down on the joystick but Grandpa is probably the one that will put it back to fast cause its going too slow. try also contacting Roadrunner Mobility@ 1-800-467-2668 and ask if they have a tech in your area that has a progeammer to slow his chair down. Hope this helps

Hi! My MK5 power chair has started to quit working in the middle of a ramp. All of the lights blink quickly 6 times and then pauses and then starts again. Any ideas what that may be? Thanks! Barb

Barb If you have an Invacare chair then the 6 flashes indicate a right park brake fault. Unfortunately you cannot just order a brake for your chair. If Medicare paid for your chair then you can call Repair Xpress @ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to have them repair your chair and bill Medicare for most of the repair cost. Hope this helps

Invacare pronto m51 moving very slow. moves free and easy when in neutral

Check that the speed control on your joystick is set to high. If it is then you probably have a battery problem. Even with all the lights lit on the joystick you can have one battery of the two on the chair that is not charging fully. This will cause the M51 to creep and not work correctly

Healthrider H550I show 20 mph then slows down to crawl

OK two things, first is that you must check if the belt is in good condition and the deck also. second, we turn to the recommendation, review the motor controller if any diode or MOSFET is bad, and maybe check the main motor has to re-coiling

Reverse speed too high

No, the controller must be reprogrammed and you will need an Invacare service tech to bring his hand-held programmer over to make the corrections to the chair.
