It was sent to my father from the factory several years ago but asks for a password. How can I get into it?

You can try a factory reset. Check the owners manual or try Google for the procedure.

Factory reset, this will take it back to as new.

The password is set up by you when new, from new no passwords are set! You need to factory reset! from off, press power and volume+ buttons together until reset screen comes up, then move using volume and select using power buttons!

Coby has closed their doors. One of the solutions I found was to do a hard reset which restores the tablet to out of the box condition. To do so, hold the power button & the volumn down button until the android figure appears. He'll be on his back with an open panel on his chest with a red triangle above it. Press the 'back' button and a menu appears with options of "reboot system now', 'apply update from external source', wipe data/factory reset', 'wipe data partition', and 'apply update from cache.' Scroll up & down the list using the volume up/down buttons and select the option you want using the power button.

The tablet has no PIN. It is the SIM card for 3G that needs a PIN to access the 3G service.
When you remove the SIM card, the tablet will work perfectly without asking a PIN.

Who set up your Westell wifi security? They will know the password. Otherwise you have to reset the network password.

call the company that makes it and ask for tech support. I am sure they would walk you through the steps.
