Green purple and blue bars rolling through screen

I have a Samsung 32 LCD that is about a year old. I have noticed that when the scene of a movie or TV show has a dark background I get these green blue and purple fuzzy lines about 2 inched wide top to bottom that scroll continuously up the screen.
Any ideas?

Don't change anything. The tv is good. You have some 60 Hz interference coming thru your signal cable. Check with your tv service provider or connect the tv on HDMI instead of analog AV or component.

Comcast Causing Purple/Green Hum Bars

this is normally caused by voltage on the coaxial cable which simply can be solve by a surge protector with a cable in and out.. but this is just a way to passify the issue. More than likely there is a bad ground either in your house or on the comcast line

Black parts of screen looks light light is shining on it

Your LCD TV uses backlights and they can be slightly visible when viewing a letterbox movie.  However, if the light is really bleeding into the black, there could be a problem, but mosty this is common.

Faint blue vertical bars on screen

What you see on your screen are retrace lines, it can happen for various reasons. Jut lower the screen voltage by adjusting the knob specified as "screen" on the LOT, this will disappear.
