SOURCE: i have a 46 inch

i have a 40" model aas well - the only way to turn it off i have found is to restore to factory settings and set the tv up again.

It seems like your Tv is on demo mode go to the menu screen select option and search for tv mode turn it from store/demo mode to house mode also check that if demo in on to turn it off

To turn off DEMO MODE do the following:

Press and hold the HOME button located on the front of the TV until the message Demo Mode: off appears on the screen.

you can exit the DEMO MODE by the following setup.

Power ON the television

How do I disable Features Demo on Sharp Aquos 65 E77?

Go to TV input and select menu. In menu, go to setup and select ez setup. In ez setup, select home and not store for TV location. Feature demo will now be turned off.

Store Mode is ON.

for Bravia's.. To turn off the demo mode, press and hold the MENU button on the TV for more than 10 seconds. The message Demo mode: Off will appear on the screen.

Can't turn off PIP on Sony XBR videoscope TV

Hit the set up button on the TV.
You'll see options to change the language. The last option is to put the TV in "Demo Mode."
Put the TV in Demo mode, when the first screen appears, "Welcome to...." the PIP will disappear.
Hit exit before the screen moves to the "Menu." If you miss it, watch the demo once--it will restart--and hit the exit button the next time you see the "Welcome to" message.

I just did this and it worked for me - i hope it works for you.
