How to duplex on a ricoh 4310DN - Ricoh Aficio 1232C Color Copier

verify you are using the correct driver, there is more than one for that. Other than that check the default settings in the driver.

You will have to find in printer driver ----> change accessories and you will have to CHECK duplex unit. Then you will be able to use the duplex.

there is a sw on the duplex unit that tells the copier it is closed my guess is that its broke

Hope you got the right duplex unit for your machine. Was just looking it up in the book and the following is stated in the book.

(Note: The G116 (Which is the AP610N unit)
Duplex Unit is unique, and is not compatible with the G091 model.)

I believe you need the following product code for your model machine

Duplex Unit
(G806)

There are certain models that can duplex and certain models that can't. Generally if a Ricoh copier can duplex it has a D after the name (like 2018D). If there is no option for duplexing on the screen or the ops panel, that model doesn't support duplexing.

there could be multiple reasons for it to be jaming on duplex, just depends where in duplex it jams. most common for the age of the copier rubber rollers in duplex getting dirty or hard. like swan34 said try some type of rubber cleaner.

during the installation you have to select this option, by default the duplex option is not selected. Uninstall the software, restart your pc and install the software again, and select the duplexing option. I hope this helps

it is possible that the duplex door switch or actuator is bent or out of position and not making good contact the switch on that model is a small plastic switch and it may need to be replaced if that is the case you may need to call a ricoh service tech to replace the switch.
the switch is inexpensive a few dollars but the cost of the csr could be $113.00 per hr or more.

Go to "start" then "printers and faxes" ( If XP). RIGHT click on your default printer ( Ricoh 2022) select properties, at the top of the screen you will see a tab that says Accesaries" hilight that tab and down on the page that says "duplex" place a check mark where it says duplex. CLICK APPLY or it will not change when you exit.
