SOURCE: My samsung model- HCN4226W T.V will not turn on

You should always have all expensive electronics on a surge protector. It sounds like for this set the power regulators blown out as I know this set very well and seen it a hundred times!! its a power regulator IC that cant handle a power surge at all. and if thats your only problem, it shouldnt cost more then 175.00 to 250.00 to repair. Now with a surge though there could be other problems as well but from what you stated Im guessing alls ok except what i stated. Now Please do not attempt to repair yoursels, as these sets have alot of Hi voltage inside them even when they are unplugged.. Good Luck

SOURCE: hlp5063w 50'' projected samsung lamp won't come back on ?

It could be the lamp but don't overlook the lamp door interlock switch. If the lamp door is not aligned properly, you may have intermittent shutdown or no start conditions. You can temporarily cross the interlock switch to confirm that this is the cause.

SOURCE: Samsung HLP5674 color wheel problem

If you didn't replace the whole assembly with the color wheel, the sensor on the bracket could have been damaged. The sensor detects the black stripe on the hub assembly of the wheel to sense if it is spinning before lighting the lamp. I learned the hard way and just replaced the color wheel. 8 months later the sensor started failing intermittently and then outright failed and it had me scratching my head for a week trying to figure it out. At first the lamp would light for about 5-10 mins, good picture, and then would go out and all 3 LEDS on the front of the TV would flash. Had to pull plug from wall to get it to restart and the the same thing. After a while it failed altogether and the tv would try to start and shut down. It would restart by itself 2 more times, but the RPMs on the color wheel were way too high...the sensor was trying to read the RPMs and couldn't get a reading. The wheel was ramping up and down. After 3 tries, the tv would shut down with 3 LEDs on the front panel. I replaced the bracket with a new one (new sensor and wire) and all is well. I could not find just the bracket/sensor assembly, had to buy the whole assembly (wheel/bracket/sensor). Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Samsung HLN5065W 50 in. Rear Projection HDTV-Ready

With the back off of the set it will shut off. There is a lever it engages to prevent the set being operated with the back off.

The color Wheel will cause a fan like or high pitched grinding noise. I can tell you where to buy it and also there are on the internet places with written and VIDEO instructions for the replacement in most of these sets.

Put the back on and see if the set again works and still has the noise.

Replaced lamp on samsung dlp - will not turn on - color wheel is intact but will not move - it sounds like TV is trying to start up but after three tries all three LEDs turn on - is this possibly a bad...

No,the tv colors wheel it is also dead or lose connections somewhere, because there no movement at all and all the LEDS indication lights are flashing and not giving power voltage to the tv colors wheel part at all.

Samsung hln617w dlp tv won't turn on. Red temp

Had similar problem. Thought it was the lamp. Examined old lamp but it appeared to be good. Ordered a new one anyway. Changed the lamp but the TV screen would not come on. It would make the usual noise as it was going to come on normally but it would cycle 3 times & then turn off. The LED lights in the front panel would indicate a defective lamp. Then read about the ballast. Changed the ballast & still same problem. Tried starting the TV without the lamp installed & noticed that the color wheel did not spin. Removed old color wheel & discovered it was broken. This appears to be the cause of all of my problems. I wish I new earlier of the test-turn on the TV without the lamp being installed & check to see if the color wheel is spinning. Would have save money on the lamp & ballast.

Samsung hln617w non power up

Most of the time when these sets won't turn off it's caused by the DMD but check the color wheel connectors first, especially the flat ribbon cable. Make sure it's in the connector in the correct direction, only has contacts on one side and make sure the ribbon is not torn.

HL-R6768W not turning on. High pitch spin sound. Bad color wheel?

The high-pitched whine is definitely the color wheel.  The early color wheels had problems and many had to be replaced.  As part of the turn-on process, the TV checks for light and then checks for color wheel sync.  If the bearings are wearing out/dried out, it could cause issues with getting the proper color wheel sync, causing the set to not pass the turn on sequence.
Check Sears or partstore.com for a color wheel.  I like sears for experimental replacements since they allow easy returns.
BTW, mine is an early 61".  My color wheel was replaced when I had to replace my Light Engine.  My in-laws 50" was an early one and theirs went out within 2 years.

Samsung HLN617W1 picture will not come on

Replacing the projection lamp solved part of the problem. I am still concerned about the sound which is coming either from the fan or color wheel. After it warms up the humming sound seems to greatly lessen. I guess I will just wait that problem out until something drastic happens.

I need help with my DLP TV

If you have verified the votages are there at the color wheel and its not spinning the color wheel is most likely defective. the sound you hear when spinning by hand is most likely the bearing but that shouldnt stop it from spinning. but as i said if the supply voltage is present but it still wont spin. the color wheel must be defective.

My DLP TV wont turn on.

As part of the power up sequence on the Samsung HLP-4336W the lamp isn't turned until timing pulses are detected from the color wheel. The color wheel motor is powered through the flat brown four conductor ribbon cable and the timing pulses are detected over the the three conductor ribbon table.

Samsung DLP HL-S5087W 56" Confused...

Mine did that when the color wheel didn't spin up...just give it a whack where you installed the light & the wheel should spin up. I had to replace my color wheel as the bearing was shot & was buzzing all the time. The light won't come on if the wheel doesn't spin up first.
