The needle is moving showing its receiving ,but no sound.I already tried a external speaker with no luck.
Plug the external speaker into your PA jack and select the PA switch. If PA works then the audio chip is good. The cobra 29 must have a mic plugged in to get receive audio, You may have a broken wire at the mic connector.
First of all if this is a new radio send it back to people you got it from.Second seams to be just a tight needle Ithink its vr2that adjusts the needle?you may want to look it up @ www.cbtricks.com

Had fixed the same problem yesterday. My cobra worked when it wanted to, when it didn't it looked like you explained. I found out that on my cobra the blue wire on the mike connector was broken. When it disconnects, no sound. after soldering, everything works fine.

I have the identical model and also had the same problem. I took it in to an appliance repair and they found a problem with the output circut something about a burnt transistor is what they said. I had them replace it and has been working fine since. Hope this helps.

find a old cobra radio and get the switch out of it or go to your local cb shop and you should be able to get one.

Hi,my name is John. Take the cover off, turn the radio over to solder side up, look at the solder joints real close, you might need a magnifying glass. you will need a solder iron to heat up the solder joints, look closely, re-solder it , good luck,my name is John.
