How to format drive on a HP elitebook 8570p

It has to be reset from the motherboard just like on a desktop. There is jumper for that.

You must first get a USB stick set up with the OS you are using and the USB stick must be formatted as to be bootable. Then you need to restart your notebook and go into the BIOS setup and change the boot order to make the USB port(s) first, otherwise you will continue to boot to the hard drive.

If your trying to format through windows ( and it's not your main drive. Eg c:\ ) then you can go to ( start menu / my computer ) then right click over the icon for the drive your trying to format and a drop down menu will appear near the bottom of that menu will be a option that says format left click on that option and then the format menu will appear select the formatting option or just leave the default it's usually set for your version of windows, please don't select c:\ as it is you main drive that runs your computer .

note . most hard drives are pre formatted fat 32

There is a different program to be used on the 8570p. Nbdmifit is not compatible with that model. I believe what you will need for that model is Wndmifit.

you probably need a new hard drive remove hard drive access cover and try to re seat hard drive if it comes up with this error then the hard drive is bad as they do not take alot of shock to break them

Shut down, unplug, remove battery, plug in, reboot. I would not be overly concerned if it happens only once.

Try to Following Instruction-
1. Check your Recycle Bin - Delete Unnecessary Data Delete from your Recycle Bin.
2. Scan your Operating System & All Hard Drive with Latest Updated Antivirus.
3. How many Software install in your PC, Unnecessary software delete from your computer.
4. If problem not solve - Format your C drive.

did you format the hard drive first?
typically you need to format the hard drive using the NTFS file system before you install your operating system.

does your bios recognize the hard drive?
make sure your bios detects the hard drive.

can you boot your computer in Safe Mode? If so, do that and use your error log to find the specific cause of the blue screen,

lastly post the blue screen error message on here to get a better answer.

you might be able to format it by going to "my computer", select then right click, and choose "Format...".
if that works, good. if not, bring it in to a professional. I reccomend best buy's geek squad.
I'm not exactly sure if it will work for a hard drive, though.
