Sounds like it is time to get a new one. You might want to check with your dealer he may be able to do something for you as I do not think this is that old.
Is there any mode you have a picture that is ok? Are the pictures blurred on the monitor screen, or also on the computer? Do you shoot with the focus assist to auto? Are you shooting in dark areas, without vibration reduction? Did you try motion detection. As you can see lots of questions. Try to put the camera in the factory settings and start over again taking pictures. Please describe as correct as possible what you get and what you don't get. And how you did use the camera. Hope this helps a bit.
Hi I have an old school solution for your problem with your tv. Hit it!!!!! When you turn on your tv, go to it and lightly tap on the middle of the left frame. You should see it affect your screen. Do it until your screen is perfect. Hope it works.
OK that was a lame answer up there! If you want to add motion blur to your photographs there are several ways. There are two main motion blurs that can be achieved. One is the background blur to give your subject a fast motion feel while being able to identify your subject, like a race car. The other is subject blur to give a motion effect to your subject. NOW THE FUN PART - Doing it. The first one is the panning technique, set your camera for the proper exposure for your subject, frame your subject, as it passes by shoot and pivot at your waist while following the subject in the viewfinder, avoid up and down movement, with practice you will figure the right exposure and movement to achieve this blur effect. The second is the subject blur, this is simply adjusting your shutter speed and exposure to allow your subject to pass by with the shutter open long enough for it to leave a blurred image.
For sports action, if you want to freeze the action with minimal blur, set the ISO to a higher number such as 400, or 800. A faster "film speed" will allow the camera to have a quicker shutter speed.
If you want to blur the subject to denote motion, pick a slower ISO number and you'll be able to take sports photos with a bit of blur in them for effect!
If you need help actually setting the ISO for your camera, please let us know what is the make and model of your camera and we'll fix ya up!

Do you have your screen saver enabled, i so turn it off and se if it still does it.
Secondly boot your pc in safe mode(pressing F8) on boot up and select start windows in safe mode.
See if the monitor still does it, if so a monitor fault or loose/faulty vga lead.
If it is ok then your graphics driver may be corrupt and need re installing.
re you sure the out of focus condition is due to the actually focus or do to motion blur? I think the 3100Z in auto and flash on will set the shutter speed fairly low like 1/30th of a second for wide angle and 1/90th for full telephoto. This may not be fast enough to avoid motion blur. I would suggest using manual mode and shutter priority and set the shutter speed to 1/100th of a second. This won't effect the flash output but will reduce the amount of ambient light being captured which could cause long range shots to become darker in the distance. Name of the game, don't be afraid to take it off auto mode and experiment with manual setting.
