I was watching my television and all of a sudden the picture went snowy.

Only the older Analog type televisions get snow from lack of signal. The modern Digital TV gets pixilated. like missing pieces.
And on re-reading the title of your question, it does say CRT...... As in Cathode Ray Tube. (I thought they were all gone now, all around the world) Anyhow.... has your country switched off it's analog tv transmissions. This would give you snow. Because there is no Transmission. Seems unlikely they would stop transmission in the middle of what your watching.
So
Do you have a Digital Set Top Box feeding the TV? This would pick up Digital TV transmissions and convert them to your old CRT TV Screen. Knowing this should help you diagnose the problem.
Check the antenna input to your digital box and connections from the STB to your TV. They probably use a Yellow video cable and a Red & White (Sound Left & Right). You didn't mention if sound was still there?
Perhaps someone has pressed the remote control and the TV has jumped to one of the Antenna Channel inputs rather than the Video input (Yellow Video input)?
Might be that Simple.....
Good Luck

My television screen went black, but there is has sound

Make sure your tv is on the right input first of all. The newer flat panel lcds combine the componenent video (red , blue, green) with the composite video and audio (yellow, red, white). If your tv is on the component input then you hear audio from the composite input since the audio inputs (red, white) are shared. Look for a source or tv input button on your remote or the tv itself and try pressing this button unti you see a picture with sound.

5 year old RCA 50 inch projection tv. Picture went off.

If you are using component cables make sure they are all connected properly( pushed all the way in and in the correct input). I have seen the red cable come loose several times and cause no red color in the picture. When you change the lamp it is easy to pull on one of those cables and cause it to come loose.

No picture but has blue green and red light down middle and sound

Hi,

Most likely a blown Vertical deflection output IC. In most (but not all) Panasonic, the vertical IC is an AN55XX.

Repairs should be fairly easy with basic knowledge of electronic circuitry and components and a little soldering. I would expect the IC to be readily available at any electronics part store. Should you be uncomfortable doing a DIY, perhaps your best bet would be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

No Sound

sounds like you are using componant cables.[ red, blue, green on the right side in back of the cable box for the picture, & red & white cables for the sound.] make sure the red & white cables are connected to the middle white & red outputs of the cable box to the tv's red & white inputs, not outputs. hope this helps.
