SOURCE: New camera with fully charged battery won't turn on

It may be something more serious, or your new batteries may be too low for the camera to work properly, but the problem you describe is frequently due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a clean cloth (heavy corrosion buildups may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment, clean the contacts at both ends of the batteries, and reinstall them in the camera. Assuming that the batteries are fresh/fully charged, this takes care of about 90% of the startup problems. I hope it works for you.

SOURCE: Samsung PL150 shut down after starting up, lens

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

Nikon D70 is freezing up. I have no idea what I may have done but when I push the button to take a picture nothing happens and r09 flashes

r09 is just the camera estimate od how many shots you have left on your memory card. For the other, Use fully charged battery , Turm ca,era on and re,ove battery while at same time holding shutter for a[[rox 3- seconds. Re[lace battery, then turn camera off.on. If that does not do it, turn camera on and press reset button on bottom of camera (page 200, I believe, in tghe users manual

When i plugged it in for the first time to recharge battery, nothing happens - no flashing green light - I left it plugged in anyway but it still did not charge Coolpix S3000 EN-EL10 Li-ion battery...

I faced the same problem too. But I realised that after plugging in the adapter and connecting it to the camera, you would need to press the power button but not turn it on.

My P5100 will not turn on - no green light & lens is stuck in ''out'' position

If nothing happens with a fresh battery set, then nothing can be done. Some thing has to happen in order to be able to tell what is going on.
If there indeed nothing happening when a fresh battery set is in and the on button is pressed, that means the camera needs service or some serious repair. This could be something very simple inside such as a disconnected or loose cable. On the other hand, this can also mean that this camera is good for selling on a site such as Ebay as parts or a fixer.
There is a Nikon P5100. If it is a Nikon, then you may consider this link to call the Nikon co. and ask for either repair or a trade-off or trade up to a similar camera or better. Nikon does have a trade-in or trade-up program.
