SOURCE: verizons LG Voyager fully flashed to cricket but internet not wor
If a dealer is knowedgeable enough to claim that an LG Voyager is fully flashed, then he should know that he must activate it on its intended phone #, at the time it is flashed. Otherwise, the web will not work. This is known and common problem with the LG Voyager, and if you are able to fully flash this phone, you're aware of this problem and know how to deal with it.
Sound like this dealer did not do the flashing themselves, and were not properly trained on how to activate and refresh wap settings on a Voyager at the time of sale.
The LG Voyager must already be activated on its intended phone #, at the time the phone is flashed. This is unique to the Voyager. None of the other verizon LG phones have this requirement.
The reason is because the simple act of dialing *228, or manually programming the phone#, erases the WAP settings on this particular LG phone. Specifically, it is the WAP Gateway that is erased, and this can only be fixed by somebody who knows how to flash this phone.
This is the only verizon LG phone that will automatically erase its WAP Gateway when the phone # is programmed into it, by dialing *228.
If your Voyager is working, DO NOT DIAL *228, EVER, Keep in mind, if you call cricket for any type of billing/tech support on your account, they will tell you that you must dial *228. DO NOT DIAL *228, if you have an LG Voyager. *228 is similar to restarting your computer. It's good advice, but is usually not required.
If you are going to pay somebody to fully-flash your phone, that person should offer, even require, that they transfer service to your phone for you, at the time it is flashed. The only way to know for sure your phone was properly flashed, is to test out the web and picture messaging features, when your phone is done being flashed. I *always* test out the web browser, and incoming/outgoing picture messaging, before I consider a customer's phone to be ready.
There's is no 24hr waiting period for web/picture messaging. Basically, if it works for voice/text, there is nothing to keep web/pix from working immediately. A dealer or experiened flasher has the tools/resources to make sure the customer's account has the proper features for web/pix to work.
My last piece of advice, is that you do not have to be paying for web, in order to use the web browser on a fully-flashed cricket phone. That is right, cricket offers free web-portal access to Cricket's homepage, which doesn't include much, but does give me a page or two to load, to make sure the phone is working correctly. If you have picture messaging, you should be able to visit this page, even if you don't have web on your account: http://wap.cricket.motricity.com, and http://search.wap.mycricket.com.
There is an easy way to test if your Voyager has simply erased its wap gateway. If you can send and receive picture messages, but just cannot use the browser, then your phone is flashed properly, but needs to have its wap gateway settings refreshed. You can verify this by visiting http://www.accuweather.com, because if picture messaging works, accuweather.com will load in the browser as well. This is because accuweather.com is unique, it's the *only* website that will work on a cricket phone, without going through Cricket's wap gateway.
Well, hope this help and is not too much information. I will say, though, everything I've written is 100% accurate. I have been doing "full flashes" on Cricket phones for almost 3 years, before most people even knew you could do basic flashes. The best resource on the internet for learning about the capabilities of flashed Cricket phones is at howardforums.com, in the Cricket subforum, located here: http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=336

PS - I cannot wait for the day when my answer is proven wrong, which can only happen when somebody figures out how to flash the Voyager so that *228 is safe, and no longer erases the wap gateway. Tougher problems have been solved, maybe someday this one will be solved too. Until that happens, DO NOT DIAL *228 IF YOUR VOYAGER IS WORKING!!! can't say that enough....

Hi,
Clean the battery contact with fluid and dry cloth. Make sure the battery contact with the phone terminal. You can pack the end of the battery with a paper or you try and egt a new battery for the phone.
