Serie 41M15452 battery chamber cover is broken
SOURCE: The batteries were drained in my FinePix S7000 camera whthe camera was not in use.
The CompactFlash card may have caused the batteries to drain. Some solid state CompactFlash cards consume power while inserted in the FinePix S7000 even if the camera is turned OFF. Fujifilm recommends removing the CompactFlash card when the camera is not in use. Microdrives and xD-Picture Cards do not exhibit this problem.

Okay,
Separating the front and rear covers of the camera is not that difficult. You'll need a good small cross point screwdriver. I do not have a 2600 in front of me, but the 2650 is similar. Remove all the screws around the sides of the camera. The top sections are snapped together. work along the back edge to undo the snap tabs. I do not remember if there is a ribbon cable attached so go easy when you remove the back half.
My chat is not working yet, so if you want to go this far, let me know
SOURCE: Battery lid or cover
I have a s5500 with the battery lid clips broken.. fuji says ,, nope no warranty on that part ,, what a joke,,$120 dollars labour plus parts and freight for repair... anyway ,, went to jaycar (electrical supplies etc) and found a small metal clip/ fastener that I used on an existing exterior screw below where the strap is located. i then placed another screw in the lid that allows the remainding hole in the fastener to slip over, works like a charm. took me around 3 minutes to do and does not affect the grip on the camera and still alllows it to be easily opened and closed. I am most pleased i now have my camera back.

The S700 as it came from the factory CANNOT use a 4 gig card. You must go to the Fuji USA website and download the firmware update. You will need to have the program that came with the camera installed, and the cable that also came with the camera. Make sure that you have fresh batteries in the camera. Instructions are on the Fuji website along with the download for the firmware. You are actually going to "flash" the firmware in the camera just as if you were doing a BIOS flash in your computer. Personally, I only use smaller cards and remove the pics soon after I take them. A 2 gig card will hold about 150 full rez pics. Get them out of the camera....don't save them forever on the card!
