SOURCE: marshall mg 100hdfx fan

Some of the Marshall equipment uses computer size fans and even on occasion the same connection.

Take the bad fan with you to a computer repair shop it will be much cheaper than a marshall part they should be able to help you out

Testimonial: "that sounds like the best way to do it..will just take fan to computer shop and try and get a replacement...thanks for the assistance"

SOURCE: Buzzing fan on a Marshall mg 100 head

Try to remove the fan and look for the sticker on the back side where the wires come out.

Remove the sticker, underneath it there will be a small aluminium cap (sometimes there is no cap and the axis is readily visible when you remove the sticker).

Take the cap off with a sharp tool (it shouldn't require a lot of force to do it), now you should be able to see the fan axis being held in place by a small clamp - put a drop or two of machine oil in there, move the fan blades a little to make the oil flow past the axis into the bearing.

Reinstall the cap, put the sticker back in place, reinstall the fan and test it.

Sometimes this will make things better, but if it doesn't then it is only fair to replace the fan.

SOURCE: I need the schematics for a Marshall MG-10KK

Most of the problems with the small guitar amps are blown power amp chips. They usually use chips like the TDA2030 which look like a power transistor.
Most other problems involve broken connectors, bad solder joints or cracked circuit boards. The power supply area is so simple one doesn't need a schematic for that part which is usually just three terminal regulators for +/-15 volts. Schematics are often hard to find.
Try this site, although this is a different model, much of the schematic will likely be the same.

SOURCE: My Marshall MG 50 DFX has a noisy fan. Can I take

Bo, the fans cannot be lubricated. If the noise is from bearings, replacement is the only option.

Where is the fuse located on the marshal amplifier MG series 100 DFX 100

  • fuse on the Marshall MG100DFX amplifier is located on the back panel of the amplifier, near the power cord.
To access the fuse, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Unplug the amplifier from the power source.
  2. Locate the fuse holder on the back panel, near the power cord.
  3. Use a flathead screwdriver or other similar tool to gently pry open the fuse holder.
  4. Carefully remove the fuse from the holder by pulling it straight out.
  5. Inspect the fuse to see if it is blown or damaged. If the filament inside the fuse is broken or the fuse is discolored, it may be blown.
  6. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a fuse of the same rating. The Marshall MG100DFX amplifier uses a 2A, 250V slow-blow fuse.
  7. Insert the new fuse into the holder and press it down until it clicks into place.
  8. Close the fuse holder by gently pressing it back into place.
Once you have replaced the fuse, plug the amplifier back into the power source and turn it on to see if it is functioning properly. If the amplifier still does not work, you may need to have it serviced by a qualified technician.

Can i connect 2 jbl 300 watt speakers to the mg 100hdfx 100 watt amp head ?

Yes you can as long as the speaker impedance when paralleled doesn't go below the rating of the amp. Marshall seems to hide their design lowest output impedance. Possibly you can find that in your owner's manual. Then find the impedance of the JBL. If half the JBL impedance is equal to or greater than the lowest impedance the Marshall is rated, you are fine to use it. The speaker Watt rating should always be bigger than the amp rating which it is in this case.
