SOURCE: The dryer won't run. Dry, extra dry, and coold down process lights are lit.

Hi, the lights are signaling a control fault the is concerning the logic sector of the control board/timer. you will need to make sure that the wiring harness is connected to all points and it should be in good condition. if there are no apparent issue with the wiring harness, replace the control.

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel Auto Sensor Dryer stops & beeps constantly

Hi emkboyce

my Fisher Paykel auto sensor dryer keeps stopping and beeping, i have to stop it and and re start.

I had the same problem. I took it off the wall and vacuumed up all the lint from everywhere including around the back and including taking off the back and vacuuming everything I could reach inside. I then used a damp cloth to get rid of the rest of the lint/dust.

I thought I was wasting my time but guess what, the problem has gone.

Good luck!

Is there any way to silence the sounds these machines make when you turn the selector knob or push any button

Fridge keeps beeping: The following is for Frigidaire models but others can be addressed similarly.

Several Frigidaire refrigerator models have an electronic control panel on the freezer door the owner can use to adjust the internal temperature, dispense ice and water and receive notification about issues such as the need to replace a water filter. The refrigerators also emit a beep for various actions and as an occasional alarm. Determining what causes the beeps necessitates some troubleshooting.
Temperature Controls ·A Frigidaire refrigerator's display panel blinks when the control panel is touched to set temperature controls. After pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, press the arrow buttons within five seconds to increase or decrease the desired temperature. If you do not press the arrow buttons within five seconds after pressing "Freezer Temp" or "Refrigerator Temp" on the keypad, the refrigerator beeps to indicate the current setting will stay in place.

Door Open ·When you leave the refrigerator or freezer door open, the refrigerator beeps. Also, the "Door Ajar" indicator illuminates on the appliance's display panel. Shutting the door and pressing "Alarm Reset" stops the beeping and turns off the "Door Ajar" indicator light.
·The Frigidaire refrigerator has a control lock feature that prevents use of its control panel or dispensers when the unit is locked. When the control lock is active, a beep sounds when a keypad or dispenser is pressed. Release the control lock by pressing the "Control Lock" icon for three seconds. A beep will sound, and the icon's light will go out.
Power Reset ·A power reset is occasionally necessary if the Frigidaire refrigerator's control panel does not work normally or a reset function on the keypad does not work. A power reset involves disconnecting power to the refrigerator by unplugging its power cord from the electrical outlet, waiting 30 seconds and plugging the power cord back into the electrical outlet. When the control panel resets, a beep sounds. If the refrigerator beeps even after a power reset and the beeps' source is not known, contact Frigidaire.

Whirlpool Dryer Various Test Procedures - Part 3

TEST #5 Moisture Sensor
NOTE: This test is started with the machine completely assembled. This test is performed when an automatic cycle
stops too soon, or runs much longer than expected. NOTE: Dryer will shut down automatically after 2-1/2 hours.
The following items are part of this system: Harness/connection, Metal sensor strips, Machine control electronics
1. Activate the diagnostic test mode and advance past saved fault codes.
2. Open the dryer door. If a continuous beep tone is heard and an alphanumeric number is displayed on the console as soon as the door is opened, a short circuit exists in the moisture sensor system. If this doesn’t happen, go to step 3. Otherwise, go to step 4. NOTE: Over drying may be caused by a short circuit in the sensor system.
3. Locate the two metal sensor strips on the inside of the dryer. Bridge these strips with a wet cloth or finger.
If a continuous beep tone is heard and a software revision number is displayed on the console, the sensor passes the test. Go to step 8. If not, continue with step 4.
4. Access the moisture sensor wires: Remove the lint screen. Remove the two wires holding the lint screen to the top. Remove the four screws from bottom of the duct in rear. Remove the duct from the dryer to access
the moisture sensor.Disconnect the sensor connector.
5. Access the machine control electronics. Remove the connector P13 from the circuit board. Check the main
harness connections between the sensor connector and machine control for a short or open circuit. Replace the main harness if necessary. If the harness is okay, continue with step 6.
6. Measure the resistance across the outermost contacts of the sensor connector that includes the two MOVs. Sensor Harness with MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistors) Sensor Connector Sensor Blower Housing Disconnect sensor connector. If a small resistance is measured, check for debris across moisture strips inside of the drum; clean if debris is present. If debris is not present, replace sensor harness with MOVs. Otherwise go to step 7.
7. Measure the resistance across each of the outermost contacts and the center terminal (ground connection).
If a resistance less than infinity is measured, replace the sensor harness with MOVs.
8. If moisture sensor diagnostic test passes, check the thermistor: Perform TEST #4a. If the problem persists after replacing the moisture sensor, harness with MOVs and thermistor, replace the machine control electronics.

TEST #6 Buttons and Indicators
This test is performed when any of the following situations occurs during the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic Test:
None of the indicators light up No beep sound is heard
Some buttons do not light indicators None of the indicators light up:

1. See Diagnostic Guide/Before Servicing.
2. Perform TEST #1 to verify supply connections.
3. Perform TEST #2.
4. Visually check that the P5 connector is inserted all the way into the machine control electronics.
5. Visually check the user interface assembly connections.
6. If both visual checks pass, replace the user interface assembly.
7. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
8. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
9. If indicators still do not light, the machine control electronics has failed: Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
Replace the machine control electronics. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
No beep sound is heard:
1. Visually check that the P5 connector is inserted all the way into the machine control electronics. If visual check passes, replace the user interface assembly.
2. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
3. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
4. If replacing the user interface assembly failed: Unplug dryer or disconnect power. Replace the machine control electronics. Plug in dryer or reconnect power. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostic test to verify repair.
Some buttons do not light indicators:
1. Visually check the user interface assembly connections. If visual check passes, replace the user interface assembly.
2. Plug in dryer or reconnect power.
3. Perform the Console Buttons and Indicators Diagnostics test to verify repair.

TEST #7 Door Switch
Activate the diagnostic test mode and perform the Door Switch Diagnostic test.
Functionality is verified with a beep each time the door is closed and opened, and a number and letter appears in the display (i.e., 0E, 09). If any of the above conditions are not met: Unplug dryer or disconnect power.
Check that the wires between the door switch and machine control electronics are connected. If the connections are OK, replace the door switch assembly and retest. If the door switch assembly has been replaced and dryer still does not start, replace the machine control electronics.

Auto cycle does not work timed cycle works fine

In some dryer's the control panel relies on a thermistor rather than a CYCLING thermostat to regulate the drum's air temperature by monitoring the component's resistance changes; resistance goes down as temperature increases and up when temperature decreases. Once the drum's air temperature reaches a certain level required to dry clothes, the control panel shuts off the heater. The panel will turn the heater on again and begin another heating cycle when the thermistor indicates that more heat is needed to keep the air temperature constant inside the drum

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle. Which are reflected by the thermostats.

My dryer beeps constantly when not in use

Thank you for your post, friend!

From what you have described your Frigidaire dryer beeps continuously when not in use. This could be an issue with your wiring harness or control panel. I would recommend performing a power reset on your dryer and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If that does not resolve your issue I would recommend contacting a technician. The technician will have the appropriate tools needed for proper diagnosis and repair. Hopefully this information is helpful. -Matt

Why does kenmore dryer model 417.8804277 keep beeping when not in use?

If you have the 417.88042700 dryer, this is often a symptom of a control panel failure. First though, try resetting the dryer. Unplug the unit (or flip the circuit breaker to off). After 30 seconds to one minute, plug the dryer back in. Press Cancel twice to clear the PF message. Try running a short cycle and see if the unit beeps after the cycle is over.

Also check if you are getting brief power failures. Really short ones might cause beeping without the PF message on the display.

If neither of the above explain the issue, you probably need to check the control board or wiring for a short. A replacement control board is available here: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/b6p8/Kenmore-Dryer-Main-Control-Board/137008010/1472768?modelNumber=417.88042700 .

I hope this helps.

When preheating the oven it beeps constantly and F10 appears where the temperature should be....what do I do?

The F10 error code indicates a runaway temperature condition. If your oven is overheating, unplug the power cord for a few minutes. When plugged back in if the oven is still overheating, you will need to have the temp sensor & control checked.
