Squeak is intermittent, has been happening for at least 4 weeks, and is now occasionally changing tone (lower). Smaller loads make it slightly less obnoxious, but don't prevent it from happening.
Good Morning John,
I understand that the dryer on your Frigidaire laundry center, model# FEX831CS, is squeaking intermittently. I also see that you are wondering if it could be the glide, the felt, or possibly something else, that is causing this. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine the exact cause of the squeaking. Hope this is helpful.
-Best Regards-

SOURCE: stackable unit with a squeak
the front panel will need to come off, disconnect power to unit.
remove the angular panel between the units theres a couple of screws behind there to remove the console(it drops sown no need to remove)
next there are maybe 4 screws across the very top of the unit (actually will be easier to remve the entire top of unit)
2 more screws behind the console then release the front panel, need to be mindfull of door switch wires.
ok from here you can reach under drum and release the tension pulley holding the belt( beforeyou do get a feel (you wont be able to see it) get a feel for how it operates and applies tension because youre gonna have to reattach in in alittle while
after that grab hold of the entire drum and give it a good lift off the rear bearing, might need a little ummf but ittl come out. afterthat follow instuctions in th ekit and reassemble unit.
my adive is that you use the supplied screws that hold rear bearing to drum to thread the rear bearing plate ahead of actually trying to secure it. much easier trying to reach in the drum and tightene the screws if the holes are all ready threaded.
SOURCE: Dryer buzzer is SO LOUD - How can I adjust volume/turn off?
Buzzer mounted to back of control panel.
**UNPLUG POWER BEFORE REMOVING CONTROL PANEL OR TOUCHING -ANYTHING-!**
Located on left side of control panel, bolted to back. Small rectangular device with two connections and no associated button or dial.
Remove the panel and disconnect one of the leads. Fold the connector back against its wire, carefully and securely tape the connector with electrical tape so it cannot touch anything. Also tape the connector on the buzzer that you removed the wire from.
Re-assemble the control panel.
As with anything mechanical, hours of frustration trying to take something apart can be avoided by taking a few minutes at the beginning to look closely at how it is assembled.
SOURCE: the dryer squeaks loudly
The dryer has been over loaded too often. Try to determine if squeak is from the front or back. The felt pad dirty. If it is from the bottom, then the tension roller is binding and needs lubrication.

ABSOLUTELY! There is a plastic piece in the back that the center ball piece on the back of the drum spins in. Thats your bearing, replace it.
