Are you sure you have tried the aspect button, usually the one top left on remote, press it and select ( with arrow buttons from auto 14.9 16.9 4.3 zoom 1 2 3 etc this will fill out screen,

If it is not 1080P set you cannot. If 1080P it will only display that with a 1080P signal connected to the correct input on the set.
